Happy 2nd Birthday Brady! Brady's a pretty typical 2 year old. He amazes us with the things he knows, makes us laugh hysterically, and can also make us completely crazy! :) Physically he's in constant motion- running, climbing, walking up and down the stairs, tiptoe-ing around, dancing, playing modified versions of just about every sport (football, baseball, golf, basketball, tennis). He loves to explore and play with us. He's also gotten much better at independent play, which is fantastic! Usually this independent time is spent sitting at his workbench" working on a project" as he says, or "playing woad," or reading and chatting with his stuffed animals.
Emotionally he seems to be right on target as well. He lives in the moment and his feelings are completely transparent. He gives the biggest hugs, the cheesiest smiles, and throws the loudest, most spectacular tantrums! :p He does get easily upset and impatient...and totally annoyed when he doesn't get his way. He's either inherited this directly from me or I never outgrew my toddler stage! ;p He is a very loving child though and gives lots of affection, especially to his stuffed animals and me (which makes my heart just melt!). He's my sweet little man...but can flip in an INSTANT and become the crazed toddler exerting himself with the forceful use of "NO!" accompanied by hitting, kicking, or pushing...which is accompanied by time outs and disciplinary chats...which is followed by hugging, apologizing, and "makin' it better" as he says.
His language skills are remarkable! He'll repeat anything he hears (which is a Riot at times!). He speaks in phrases and in sentences- which is pretty awesome for his age. When we saw the pediatrician for his 2 year wellness appointment, she commented that his language was great and he was very inquisitive and expressive. Many strangers we meet tell us the same thing after they ask how old he is. Don't get me wrong- his communication skills are not perfect by any means. There's still a bunch of babble and times when we have no idea what he means. But it sure does make for one cute little 2 year old! :)
