It's Friday...Let Your Bumper Out!

Sylvie wanted to dress up in her cow costume tonight, but apparently saw her bathing suit as a nuisance and removed it first.  Kristin and I call the kids to round them up and the cutest half-naked cow comes barreling toward us.  She wasn't even aware of the absurdity until Kristin and I could hardly talk we were laughing so hard.  So she took her show across the street to the Morels where the rest of the crew were hanging out and proclaimed, "I got a nudey bump-a!"  And this is the story of how our summer catch-phrase came to be...as Ashli summed it up- "It's Friday!  Let your bumper out!"

Impromptu Sprinkler and Popsicle Party

Love our home.  Love our friends.  Love the last minute, "Hey, what are you doing right now?  Want to come over and play?"  That's what happened tonight and yet another super fun time was had by all!

 

Pajama Day

Nothing like Pajama Day to get you back in the mood for school! :)  After two days out, Sister's excited to be back...but only b/c she gets to wear her pjs to school.  The bedhead allowance was an added bonus for me too! :)

She's a Natural

At the tender young age of three years old, Sylvie has already learned that mommyhood can be exhausting! She's also learned to multi-task; nap while feeding your baby.

Twenty-five years from now, when I may be snapping a similar shot, I'll remind you that you had the hang of it in preschool, Syl-syl!

Cowgirl Boots

Little sister is home sick today.  We did have to run out to the grocery store where I wanted her to pick something, anything, to eat.  She insister on her boots and I had to take her picture.  Even when you're not feeling well, you are too cute Sylvie Rae!

 

I had to teach this afternoon so I told the patient I would be in the office with the door closed and would not be able to help her for a bit.  She was content with Disney Jr. when I left her and when I came out an hour later, she was passed out on the couch.  oh my heart, you are so sweet (well, when you're sick and sleeping), Syl. :)

Backyard Warriors

Don't mess with the Backyard Warriors (armed with garbage can lid shields, pool noodle swords, and golf club rifles). And yes, the flannel princess pajamas Sylvie insisted on wearing outside after her nap are a unique form of BDU/camos.  Good old-fashion imagination-using outside fun with pals!  Love it!!!

Poor Papa and Daddy- while taking a little break from working diligently to clear the brush to further extend the lawn playing area and make room for a swingset, they came under attack by the small soldiers!

 When Papa and Daddy made a Home Depot run, 

the battalion created a blockade and lay in wait.

  Papa fires back, but Brady holds his ground.

A little inside fun too- but still kickin' it old school with cardboard box fort in the closet.  Love it!

Sport Bounce

I purchased a Living Social deal a while back for Sport Bounce, and apparently it expires at the end of this month.  So we took Bella with us and met up with Jerel and the Pauleys for a fun Memorial Day activity.  I only took one picture which was requested by Colin and Sylvie-

We Run (or Bike) on Dunkin'

Brady and I rode bikes while Brett pushed Sylvie in the stroller to Dunkin' Donuts for a treat this morning.  The trip is now a little longer than it used to be (it was like 1/4 mile from our old house; not it's probably about 3/4 mile). :)

 

 

Flicks in the Sticks / Morel Movie

We had our own version of the neighborhood Flicks in the Sticks at the Morels house tonight.  We made s'mores, and the adults sat around the fire and talked while the kids watched The Princess and the Frog outside on the big screen.  SO fun!  (terrible iPhone pict)

Strawberry Picking

We did our annual strawberry picking today.  YUMM!  The berries were delish as usual, and this time we went with our "extended family" (the Morels and the Pauleys) so it was Even More Fun!  A few picts before we head out...I do love the clarity of SLR picts!

 Hayes was jammin' (making his own strawberry jam by squeezing the fruit and then clapping).  These pictures make me LOL b/c he totally looks like he's in a horror film.
