"Hot Air Balloon" Festival

I'm beginning to think the Shenandoah Hot Air Balloon Festival is inappropriately named. Based on our experiences, it is completely misleading. The balloons didn't launch last time we attended and despite Awesome weather, they didn't launch today either. We got there when the festival was ending too- so pretty much everything was closing up. Good thing it's so easy to entertain an almost 3 year old and a 9 month old...we had fun anyway!

We attempted a fam foto (I'm still trying to get a good one of the four of us!) before we left. The location worked for a timer shot, but the shady tree wasn't ideal...oh well.

There was this neat little pumpkin display at one of the festival booths and we plunked the kids down for a photo op. As always, there's a bunch of fun ones, so I'm including them all. I love how Sylvie's round middle is accentuated by her plain white onesie- ha!

Brady enjoyed the mini petting farm.

He also really liked the hay bale maze. He didn't actually go through it, but rather jumped around it. Daddy got some good action shots-

The boys got to be up close with a fire engine. There's just something about fire engines that's so exciting! Never gets old! :)

We hopped on the "ride to your car" hayride...not to our car but just around the field b/c Brady requested the tractor ride. :p

They all indulged me and we again attempted a (field) fam foto-

She's just so darn happy and cute!

We were walking to our car planning to head home, when all of a sudden we spotted one hot air balloon hovering above the trees. We went all the way back inside. It was a tethered balloon, but we finally did see "a giant balloon" at this "festival." We Again attempted fam fotos, but with the diminishing daylight and diminishing energy of two worn out kids- it was hard to get a good one that also focused on the balloon in the background too.
Practice shots of us girls while Brady rolled down the hill and played.
You can see us here, but the balloon looks more like a silhouette.

Now we're dark, but you can see the balloon colors.

A little bit brighter
