My Little Man

Love love love my little man!

Beach Picts

Although it was hot and humid, and we were trying to check out and get on the road, we stopped by the beach one last time. We attempted a fam foto, but Sylvie was way overdue for her AM nap and Brady just wanted to dig and "jump waves." Here's the best we could do-

Cute Little Girl Photo Shoot

While we packed up the house this morning, Daddy entertained Sylvie with a photo shoot.
Seriously, does this not look like a "senior picture" pose? No little girl...I won't allow you to grow up! You must stay small and squishy forever! :)

Last Full Day

We hung out and relaxed today. I finished my book while Sylvie napped. Brady played with his grandparents and his dog...who this time around loved the sand and snuggled up in it.

The Luhring men (Papa, Daddy, and Brady) rode bikes to the beach.

We, Luhring ladies joined the boys when Sylvie woke up. The little girl toes dipped in the ocean for the first time. She was a bit scared and not much of a fan.

No worries little girl, your brother wasn't too fond of it either...until just today when he got to jump the waves with Daddy (finally a day without the "No Swimming" flags flying!)

After PM naps, we hung out by the pool. The little girl toes were Much happier in the pool as indicated by the arm flapping and squeals of delight!

This is my favorite one of Papa b/c he looks like his son here. He's laying down exactly like Brett always does- just relaxing on any surface. :)

Overheard in OBX

Brady found one of the small square patches that came in a few of the blow-up pool toys. He held it up and said, "Who wants to be the calendar helper?" (one of the jobs at school) Then he chose one of us as his helper and made sure everyone got a chance. (When I raised my hand again, he said, "No Mommy, you already had a turn!")
btw, ever since Brady switched daycares to the center (that is more "school-like") he often schools Sylvie at home. Sometimes it's formal- "I'm the teacher Sylvie! You havta Listen!" Other times it's general instruction, "Don't touch my scissors Sylvie 'cuz they're sharp. You're too small. You have to be big, like me. Only I can use these." Sylvie responds well to him and just smiles and laughs, basking in his attention. So cute!

I usually tell Brady to "be nice" but sometimes I find myself saying, "Brady, behave." I've often thought that is probably confusing and it was confirmed today when he said, "But Mommy, I'm 'have!" (pronounced hey-vuh)

We were in a souvenir beach shop and Brady picked up a (drinking) funnel (with a giant funnel on top and a thick clear tube attached). He asked me, "Mommy, what's this?" I said, "It's a funnel. Don't worry about it." What I didn't realize was that apparently he wasn't asking me b/c he didn't know what it was. He was asking me to quiz me! He replies, "No, it's a pump!" I was cracking up! I wish I had the camera b/c the funnel was huge (like bigger than his head). But I could see how it looked like a part of the breast pump, albeit an extra extra large one! LOL!

Biker Boys

The house had a few bicycles and one of them had a toddler seat on the back. Brady Loved it! (I didn't bring his bike helmet- whoops! But he is wearing his new OBX hat. Handsome little man.)

Duck Donuts

Since we missed our chance yesterday, we went to get donuts this morning.

After breakfast, we said goodbye to Mimi. See you soon Mimi!

Mimi and Sylvie matched this morning with their khaki crops and pastel shirts-

After Nap

"What are we doing after nap today?" Brady asked us before he laid down. We laughed b/c apparently we're over-using the "Take a nap now. When you wake up, we'll..." approach this week. ha! Today it was supposed to be "We'll go get Duck Donuts." But since it's post Labor Day, they close @ 2PM. We got there around 4. doh. So we had some more ice cream, played for a bit, and did a little shopping.

Little girl cuteness :)

She's been funny napping the past two days too. Since we've arrived, she's perfected her crawling as well as her ability to pull up on things. Yesterday when I put her in the pack-n-play for her morning nap. She did laps and crawled around the perimeter until it appeared she ran out of gas...and just laid down and passed out. It was adorably funny!

Oh sweet girl. I wanted to take her picture with Papa, but if she sees me, she wants to be with me.
"Yes, happiness is Mommy.
So come get me!
"

Oh yay! Papa can be fun too...he lets me JUMP!

And he gives me food...ah, happiness indeed. When we walked in to the ice cream parlor, the lady behind the counter took one look at Sylvie's thighs in her onesie and said, "There's a cutie that doesn't miss a meal!" lol, true dat!
He posed himself like this. I mean, whose big boy is this?
