New Additions to Websters

I think Websters should add these "Brady originals" to the dictionary b/c they are actually pretty appropriate:

pantreat: (n.) a room or closet in which food, groceries, and other TREATS are kept
a.k.a. pantry

cellephone: (n.) a mobile telephone system that Daddy often uses to talk to "his friends"
a.k.a. cell phone / telephone

cutie-cake: (n.) a synonym for cutie pie; sweetie; a girl who is cute
sample usage: "Sylvie is a cutie-cake!"
(Brett always says, "Sylvie is a cutie-pie." Brady was trying to say this on his own and said, "Sylvie is a cutie-cake!" LOL! Indeed, she is!)

maked: (n.) [pronounced mey-kid; sounds like naked] referring to a bed being without sheets or blankets; as in a naked or unmade bed
(We usually say, "nudey" but Brady is familiar with the word, "naked." Additionally, I've been talking to him about making the bed, explaining that we pull the sheets and blankets up and straighten them out. The other night he says, "Oh no! Mommy, my bed is maked!" huh? I go up there to discover his sheet and blanket are on the floor and he wants the bed made. So the bed is without bedding...you know, it's maked.)

No Hangovers, Just Hanging Out Here

We aren't waking up with tigers in our bathroom like Daddy might be while he's in Vegas for Murali's bachelor party this weekend (The Hangover reference), but we do have a cutie cow in our office. :) Little moo is wearing her birthday present from cousin Josiah today.

I love this picture b/c it's one of Sylvie's typical stances (and no, she's not going potty!). Such strength this little one has!

After naps, Papa joined our party. We played with the sled in the yard and then walked to the school for some downhill action. It was Sylvie's first time sledding. But I think she preferred just riding around being pulled in the sled. The whole experience exhausted her and she was out like a light during the stroller ride home.

Practical Use

The boys went sledding today during Sylvie's AM nap. Although he got Two new pairs of sunglasses for Christmas, we could not find either one. Eye protection was required on this super bright sunny day. Daddy came up with an excellent solution when he looked down and saw one of the kids' "toys" on the ground. Genius!

Prepping to go outside- he's excited about his Diego socks, his binoculars, and of course, his goggles. :) And he's ready for the downhill!

Snow Day

Ice, sleet, snow- we've had it all today. Parents are working from home and kids are playing at home. :) I didn't get good pictures as I was out by myself with the wee ones while the wet snow was coming down, but it was a good time!
Watch...

...and Learn :)

Love her rosy red cheeks

He wanted to pull her in the sled. It started off okay, but she doesn't hold on...so, boink! She's down and squawking about it- lol! Time to put the camera away and intervene. :p

Happy 2nd Birthday Rayan!

The kids and I celebrated Rayan's 2nd birthday at Jumpin' Jack Sports this evening. Brett was dealing with an awful stomach bug so it was just the three of us. I didn't take many pictures...I was having too much fun playing, visiting, and keeping track of the little peeps. Of course the kids had fun playing ball and jumping in the bouncy house (even Sylvie and I went in). um, SO fun! I haven't ever been in one. I'm always been either pregnant or taking care of a baby when we've been places that have these. But now that Sylvie's sturdy and loves jumping- Game On! whoohoo! Brady also discovered this fun new toy (the blowout horn) and had a Blast. Happy Birthday Ry!

In Charge

This was just overheard while Brady was playing with his Buzz Lightyear toy. Buzz said, "Who's in charge here?" and without a moment's hesitation, Brady responded, "Mommy's in charge!"

That's right boy, that's right!

The Playseum

We went to the playseum today. As we were paying to get in, the owner informed us that it was "THE place to be on a cold winter Saturday morning when you are under 5." Indeed the crowd there confirmed this. I was a little disappointed b/c it wasn't nearly as cool as the Children's Museum in Providence, but it was entertaining for a few hours.

Signature Style

LOVED Sylvie's random outfit when we went out for pizza this evening. Awesome how she can pull off her pj shirt, a hand-me-down pair of khakis from big bro, and Maya's fun pom-pom boots with her crazy hair. I wish I could do that! ;p Again, it was difficult to get a good picture of her; and the accessories (a lanyard from an old badge and one of Brady's cars) were all her idea. :p

Googles

I don't know what it is about these old ski goggles of Brett's...but they are appealing to both kids! Sylvie got a hold of them this morning and although I couldn't get a good picture, she was having a blast! Who knew they'd be so much fun?!
