Last FavDay

Today is my last FavDay. :( Admittedly, I haven't had many FavDays lately...my part-time employee day off to spend with my kids has been spent working, and not getting paid for it. So as of tomorrow (Oct. 1) I am resuming full-time employment. boo. The good news is I got a 20% raise doing this. :p Sylvie went to daycare this morning and Brady and I ran errands; the most important one was buying birthday presents for his friends. We have a birthday party (and sometimes 2!) every weekend in October. I was just going to get the gifts myself, but Brady asked me what I was doing today and when I told him he said, "Oh! I like Target and those other stores. Can I go?" Sure dude, it will be fun! And it was! I asked him to repeat what he had just said to me and snuck in this quick picture of him b/c it was hilarious. We were finding gifts for his best buddies Colton and Cameron. He points to this one and says, "Colton will like this b/c it's two trucks- he can have this one and give this one to me!" lol! This was an improvement on his earlier logic which went something like this, "Mommy, I want this toy as my present!" "Brady, it's not your birthday yet. Remember how we talked about this and it's your friends' birthdays and we are finding gifts that your friends would like, then we will wrap them up, and give it to them at their birthday party." "Um, okay. I'll get this and then I'll find one of my toys at our house and we can wrap that up for my friends. They'll like that. They like my toys." LOL! Awesome, he's a consignor at heart. It was a fun morning out with my pal and it was neat to get his perspective on what would make good gifts for his friends.

After I worked and the kids ate lunch, napped, and learned at daycare, we headed to Grandma and Papa's house for dinner- where I had invited us over earlier in the week. :) As always, we had a great time playing, eating, and hanging out.

Pretty in Pink

We both had on pink dresses and skinny jeans today- so we took a pict. :)

Daddy Duck

I was a little late pulling out the camera. I should have taken a picture when it was first Brett in line mowing the lawn, then Brady following him with his toy mower, then Sylvie following him with her wheelbarrow. That was pretty darn cute!

Once their "field" was trimmed, the players got out there. Not sure who is more dangerous with a bat: crazy swinging Sylvie or crazy-good swinging Brady (he hits the ball Well- makes good contact with it and whacks it out of the "park" most times!)

Could she be any cuter or any more proud of the fact that it's HER turn to bat and get instructions from Daddy?!

Dulles Plane Pull

I have always wanted to attend this event, but each year we've had other plans. We went this year...and actually never did get to the main event, the plane pull. ha! It was a good time anyway.

We got to go on one of the airplanes. I don't know- some sort of military craft. I don't have any other information about it b/c the kids were in and out so fast. To them, it was a jungle gym...okay, whatever- have fun!

The big draw for both of them was the airport's construction vehicles that were on display. It was like the Big Trucks event without any lines. Perfect! So this was our experience at the Dulles Plane Pull- ha!

BAH Family Day @ King's Dominion

We attended Booz Allen's sponsor-ed Family Day @ King's Dominion today. Thank goodness we had Papa's camera...I forgot ours! Oh, the horrors of Mommy not being able to document a fun family activity! :)

I wanted a picture of Sylvie and I together in our ponchos. But mad-face Sylvie wanted to be with Grandma and not pose for a picture. :p She looked absolutely adorable in her little poncho though...and she LOVED it b/c it was fleecy soft and she kept saying, "banket!" and hugging it.

We met up with the Thaivalappils and we all had fun catching up.

One of the most fun "attractions" at the amusement park? The common areas where the kids could run and chase each other. ha!

Papa said Sylvie's face just LIT UP
when she recognized her favorite ride.

In addition to the horse above,
there were many various modes of transportation.

Sylvie made friends with this monkey at one of the resting places. He pivoted and she turned him around so she could hug and kiss him. :)

We were able to stay at the park all day. On days like this, Brady will power-through his nap...and then be zonked out by 8 PM. :) Luckily Sylvie will sleep most anywhere, so we can all still keep going. Here's Sylvie taking a nap and Brady playing Tozzle on Daddy's iPhone (yup, we're at an amusement park and the kid asked to play a video game- lol!). Next stop, the top of the Eiffel Tower.

Just passing time waiting in lines...and doing what all the other kids were doing.

I think I asked them both to make "scary roller coaster face" here. haha!
