Un-Pack 'n Play

These two were kind of hilarious today.  I put a bunch of boxes in their playroom, and told them, "unpack your stuff."  I kept laughing out loud b/c it sounded like Christmas morning up there-
opening and digging through boxes, followed by, "Oh my gosh!  Look! Mr. Potato Head! I haven't see you for a weee-ly long time!"  and "whoa! Batman and Robin and the helicopter...cool, I was looking for this!"  Some of their toys have been in storage for the past six weeks or so and the reunions were hilarious!  Oh and Sylvie...sister is still a riot!  That's the tie to her Tinker Bell sleeping bag on her head that she found and said, "Cool! Headband!" and put it on herself.  :p

Happy Thanksgiving!

We're taking a break from unpacking and headed to Grandma's house for Thanksgiving on this gorgeous day!  Here's our first pictures in front of our new home!
Daddy's not in the picture b/c he's not dressed and not feeling well.  Sylvie had a stomach bug on Monday and (go figure!) Patient Zero was over it in less than 24 hours.  It hit Daddy yesterday and was pretty bad.  Papa and I were feeling queasy yesterday, but our strategy of just not eating anything spared us the Yuck that Daddy and Brady experienced all day yesterday.  Luckily, we're given a T-Day reprieve...just in time to celebrate this wonderful holiday!  I think we are among the fewest Americans who can honestly say we Lost weight this Thanksgiving.  :p

Moving Day

Today's the day...we're moving out of 21520.  We closed on our new home on Tuesday, but the sellers rented back so they'd have time to move out.  On Friday we got the keys.  On Saturday- Daddy and Papa painted; Grandma and I packed; Brady and I watched Sylvie's dance recital practice; and then Brady went over to Colton's house for an all-day playdate (awesome!).  So today- we're moving!  Here we go!
I think mostly the kids thought this whole process was just fun!  But how could they not, given the combination of cool things like donut-hole munchkins and overturned couches-turned-forts?! ha!

These two looked SO cute here.  I was mad that the only camera I had was my iPhone and the picts are blurry.  :(  They are taking a well-deserved break!
Two Guys and A Truck...
Love them both and SO grateful that they moved all of our belongings!

First Recital Practice

Okay, so I won't blog every practice for the winter dance recital.  But today was the first...it was chaotic and exciting and fun!

Final Twirl and Tumble

Today was Sylvie's final Twirl and Tumble class.  What fun the past couple months have been!  Sylvie just Loves dance class and I just love watching her enjoy it...and be so darn adorable!!!  We'll continue with this for sure!
Ms. Erin, Violet's mommy, brought yummy cupcakes as a special treat!
Love Sylvie's face in the first one!  :)
Next up is the winter recital...

O Parents' Dinner

Annually, Omayma hosts a dinner for her daycare parents.  We haven't been able to make it since 2008, the first year Brady was enrolled.  We attended this year and had a nice evening out.  This will probably be one of our last posed picts in front of 21520. wow.

Twirl and Tap

We attended a Saturday dance class to make up for the cancelled class (due to the hurricane on 10/29).  This class was the same age group, but it was a Twirl and Tap instead of Twirl and Tumble class.
She was talking and making faces during these picts, and the results cracked us both up!
whew! The Saturday class had lots of people, both kids And parents.  But as she has done throughout these sessions, Sylvie makes me SO proud.  She is an AMAZING student!!!  While most of the other girls were crying, running around being crazy, not participating, and/or otherwise not listening, Sylvie stared intently at the teacher, listened Exceptionally well, and practiced all of the dance moves.  You are an outstanding little lady, Sylvie Rae!!!  You make Mommy Proud!!
Such a "Sylvie" pose and face...she's a fierce learner when properly motivated!
Tap Time!  (VERY exciting...we've never done tap before!)
Shuffle, shuffle, tap!
It was pretty much a private lesson for Sylvie...since she was the only one listening and participating.
l.o.v.e. her!

Final Showing @ The Luhrings

As of October 29, 2012, 21520 is officially under contract. {Again, crazy mixed feelings about this for me!}  So now that we don't have to worry about any more house showings, we thought we'd have a MOVIE showing tonight.  This is our final show in the Luhring Theater, that Brett constructed himself seven years ago. (sad)
Hanging out with fab friends and enjoying this space is a great way to go out!

We're Off to See the Wizard...

...the Wonderful Wizard of Dance, Ms. Kristen!!!
Today is our make-up Halloween dance class (last Monday's class was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy).  Here's my Facebook post:
JOY- it's what dance class brings and what brought us to dance class! {Thank you Ms. Joy for the recommendation to Tutus and Tiaras and for the adorable Halloween costume!}
Dorothy's awesome hair is courtesy of Ms. Adela {you know I can't do this!!!}.
This is Sylvie with her BFFs.
She LOVES these girls- Emma and Jillian (or "Jill-la-lon" as she calls her).
This was the cutest conversation.  They are all inviting each other over their houses.  Emma said, "I have princess costumes for you and you at my house!"   Here Sylvie is saying, "I have butterfly wings for you and you and necklaces at my house!!!"  Girls and their plans, clothes, and accessories...SO adorable!
Standard "dance class pose" outside Ms. Omayma's house-
Ms. Kristen was Waldo, Violet was a cat, Jia was an angel, and Anaya was a dancer.
Sylvie's saying, "first position" (and it's adorable how she says it!) in response to Ms Kristen's,
"Put on your ducky feet! What do the ballerinas call this?"
After class, I signed Sylvie up for the winter recital.  Here she is getting measured for her very first costume...SO exciting!!!  (and cute b/c here is Sylvie's version of what I told her was happening, "Ms. Kristen measure me. She gonna buy me a dress!!!" :)
