Try It Tuesday

Brett bravely borrowed Dominic's skimboard today and did pretty awesome!  Of course, the first time I starting snapping picts, he started like this-
 but ended up like this-
But after that he was off and running...and skimming!  Yay Daddy!
We all went out to Crabby Mike's for dinner and I didn't take a single pict- doh!  After dinner, Papa and Daddy took Brady to the batting cages for the first time.  Brett said it was pretty impressive to watch a 4-year-old swinging away at balls coming at him @ 25 mph.  (Apparently there were older kids there who wouldn't even try it.)  After that, they hit the driving range.  Brady thought it was pretty cool to be golfing at night and in the drizzly rain!  There again, Brady was a little phenomenon. (Every time Papa or Daddy take Brady golfing, people stop, watch him, and comment how incredible he is  Indeed, he is!)

Rainy Monday

It was pouring down rain this morning, but it didn't matter, we still had fun!  Thanks to the grands for entertaining the kids with little amusements they brought along...
Then we met up for lunch with Artie, Marie, and Adam...lifelong friends of my parents who I remember vacationing with as a kid.  (I wonder if Brady and Sylvie will remember Aunt DeeDee and Uncle Ken this way? That's cool!)
We meant to get all the cousins together for a group shot, but Mimi had Naomi and was busy catching up with her friends.  That's okay- these cuties did just fine!
 Seriously?!  ADORABLE!
Then the Wilsons headed home and we strolled the little boardwalk for a bit.  The kids did their best "argh!" faces next to the pirate.  :p

This photo was taken by Brady or Sylvie...I'm not sure which one b/c they both were taking turns. :)
The weather was clearing a bit as we were having lunch.  After resting a little bit at the house, we headed back out to the beach.  This = happy kids!

Uncle Ken and Papa were determined to make us a yummy bbq pork tenderloin dinner despite the rain...and they did!  Deelish!

Cousins

Aiyee, Cue, Josiah, and baby Naomi visited us at the beach house today.  So fun to meet sweet 9-week old Naomi and see big boy Josiah!
The big bros in their matching shirts-
If I was better with our camera, these pictures would have come out better.  I couldn't have had cuter subjects!  These cousins are just ~5 months apart in age.
At dinner- the 2.5 and ~3 year old were adorable dinner companions.  Brady was passed out for most of the meal...it was a long day at the beach (he was out digging in the sand non-stop from 9:15-3:00!) and he was Exhausted.

Facinate-U

En route to Myrtle Beach, we stopped in Fayetteville, NC and visited Fascinate-U, a children's museum.
 At-TEN-tion!
"Boy Genius" the weatherman...on tv for real!

Move over Judge Judy!
Some day soon, telephone booths will be in Real museums!  As it is, the kids didn't get the concept of a telephone booth...
Yes, there was something for Everyone! ;p

Poppies vs. Cherry Blossoms Water Challenge

The Poppies and the Cherry Blossoms classes had a water challenge (note: teachers purposefully did not say water "fight"  I was corrected by Brady several times- lol!) this morning.  Water balloons are not allowed at school due to latex allergies, but water balls, pitchers, and apparently just the hose (!) are all fair game!  I arrived a little late to the party to capture a few pictures.  Everyone (kids AND teachers) had a Blast!

After the water challenge, it was pj day!  Brady doesn't wear jammies to sleep anymore.  (This used to make me sad b/c I like little kid jammies.  But he is a little hotbox and is always complaining of being too warm.  So I've gotten used to the superhero-underwear clad sleeper.)  But we did have this cute pair of 4T pjs from Aunt DeeDee...it was a How To Train Your Dragon set- complete with a cape that had a dragon head hood.  The jammies will work out nicely since we are getting in the car after school tonight to begin our drive to Myrtle Beach tomorrow.

Ms. Chadney was trying to entertain the kids while we waited for Ms. Yenny to return from changing to dry clothes.
 "Everybody make a funny face."
 "Everybody go to sleep!"
"Funny face with Ms. Yenny this time!"

2012 Olympic Games

Apparently we don't need to wait until Friday to catch any Olympic action...this evening it was in our family room with these pint-sized Olympians. Note how in this picture we have one set of plaid shorts in the foreground jumping from the ottoman to the sofa and the other set of plaid shorts in the background jumping on the couch.  oi.  I thought it was just a boy thing- jumping around on furniture, but it seems to also be a sister-with-an-older-brother thing too!  lol!
Here Sylvie, with her princess camera, is laying down next to Daddy, with his camera, taking a picture of "superman" diving from the ottoman to the sofa. haha!
Look at that form!  Indeed wracking up the competitive points.
