Happy Birthday Sylvie! Isn't she just adorable?! At this point, our little girl's been growing outside longer than she was inside...and we are loving every moment with her! Sylvie is a sweet happy baby. Her newest "trick" is clapping. Just last night she started doing it on her own and looked so darn proud of herself. (This is pretty neat to us since we actually taught Brady to clap. Sylvie decided we were worthy of her applause all on her own- haha!) She gets further encouraged when we say, "Yay!" Her smile gets bigger and the claps continue.
We had her 9 month wellness appointment this afternoon and it was kind of funny. She was like a little trained seal. Dr. Kim is saying things like, "Okay, so she sits on her own." (Sylvie is sitting there staring at her...and then starts to clap.) Dr. Kim says, "Wow! She claps! Thank you Sylvie. She should start to push up and get up on her own." (She puts Sylvie on her tummy, Sylvie gets up and crawls along the table.) Dr. Kim says, "Okay, check. She may begin to pull up on things at home, you know furniture or your hands." (She puts her hands out, Sylvie grabs them and pulls up.) It was comical- as if Dr. Kim was her trainer, Sylvie took all her audio cues. Needless to say, Sylvie is doing Great developmentally.
One of the cutest things about Sylvie is that the majority of her vocalizations sound like giggles or mini laughs. Maybe b/c they are usually accompanied with a smile, but her "hmmmm" and "heh heh" vocalizations sound like she seems to be- happy almost all of the time.
She is a sensitive little bunny. It's so sweet and so fitting for her. For example, she's an outlet kid, you know the ones that go straight for the electrical outlets. Brady never really bothered them, but Sylvie beelines for them. She responds well to an "ah, ah, ah," "no, ma'am" or a "no thank you Little Miss." But a few times I have been distracted or unable to get to her so I've raised my voice and said, "Sylvie, No!" She stops dead in her tracks, her little face crumbles, and she cries. When Brady having a tantrum and crying (and especially when I'm yelling over Brady's tantrum- yes, it's a bad combination, but it does happen), Sylvie's bottom lip comes out, her face starts to crumble, and the whimpers are not far behind. She's sweet, and I'd say for sure she's an "F" (feeler, like her mama) in the Myers Briggs personality type.
Our Littlest Luhring is our light. She loves Brady, Daddy, and me intensely and clearly communicates this in her 9 month old way. She squeals, smiles, laughs, touches us, pats us, and flaps her arms and thumps legs communicating enthusiasm and true love for her family. It's heartwarming. We love you with everything we have little girl!
