Baww!

April 27- Grandma took this picture of Papa and Brady and we think we now know where (or who) the "baww" face comes from. LOL! Really, Papa is mid sentence talking to Brady about the garbage truck. But still I cracked up when I saw it and Grandma cracked up when she saw the comparison photos next to it. :p

btw, how cute is he? :) Some other pictures from today. He could not stop grinning at the idea of bowling. It was very funny. When he knocked down the pins though, he said, "Uh oh." and "Broke" haha!
Summer preview...it's HOT outside!
April 28- These pictures of me pregnant are hanging in Brady's room behind the rocker. For some reason, tonight he actually noticed them (or maybe he's noticed them before, but just chose to comment tonight). He points at the one picture and says, "Mama" and I say, "Yes Brady, that's mama with you in my belly." Then he looks at the other one of Brett and me with the big round belly showing and he shouts, "Baww!" I was ROTFL! SO Darn Funny!
April 29- Tonight during dinner, Brady was in 7th Heaven. He had peas and a meatball. I put his bowl in front of him and his face lights up, "Baww!" Lately Brady's been enjoying the observation of round food. A few weeks ago, he had blueberries. He so wanted to like them! He was thrilled at their shape, but when he bit in to them, his little face turned sour. But God love him...he kept trying them as if he was willing himself to like the taste for the sake of the cool shape. lol! He's always been a fan of black beans. But this last time we had enchiladas, he kept saying, "Baww!" and plucking out the black beans to eat. What a fun way to enjoy dinner!

A weekend @ Rocks Resort

After our final swimming class this morning, we continued westward to the Rocks' new home in good ole' West Virginia. We decided that their home on 20 acres was the best resort we've been to with them! The views, the accommodations, and of course the entertainment were all outstanding! :) They now have four dogs who were very excited to have house guests. Brady was a little overwhelmed at first, but then pet ("Niiiice!") and happily played fetch ("Baww!") with them.

Fav Day- April 24

While Daddy and Papa put in some work hours this morning, Grandma and I tended to Brady's social calendar. The three of us enjoyed a performance by Mr. Skip, a kids-song-singing guitar player. We met up with Kellan and Danisa. It was so much fun! Kellan is the most friendly, sweet little guy ever. He was so happy to snuggle with any and all of us. Brady went back and forth between dancing and playing with Kellan to dancing and running in between Grandma and me. Afterward we played at the playground for a bit.
Brady's "down dog" process for getting up
and Kellan's snuggles-

This afternoon Brady enjoyed the weather in the neighborhood and more coloring with Grandma.

Date Night

So apparently it takes being married for 5 years and having grandparents in town for Brett and I to go out for a date. ;p We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary and went out to dinner alone tonight. Here's the reason for us not having a date night out in 16 months (yup, he still lives with us...haha!)-
But what a good reason it is! (and yet another funny shirt "I still live with my parents" that I couldn't resist!)

A Busy Day

Today Brady opened a few Easter presents from his grandparents. We've told them how much he enjoys the singing/dancing animals and they found the cutest bunny that does both. He even sings a song Brady knows- Tutti Fruitti. I sing the modified lyric "I gotta boy named Brady...he almost drives me CRAZY!" to him A LOT! :p

The grandparents were also listening when we told them Brady really enjoys drawing these days. I first used this as a distraction when I needed to be at the computer with the little wiggle worm. I gave him some paper and a pen and he was most content. He now runs in to the office and begs, "Seat?! Seat?!" for us to sit with him in the office chair while he draws. Well Grandma and Papa took that a step further and got him a giant coloring book and crayons. whoohoo! Their little Picasso grandson's new obsession is his crayons. He now shouts, "Coh-wer! Coh-wer! (color color)" and demands that someone sit with him while he scribbles.

Then he opened Easter eggs. Previously Brady just played with the eggs like toys...now, after the fun with the eggs Grandma and Papa brought, he expects something inside every time. (In fact we found a stray egg under the coffee table the other day. He grabbed it, opened it, and signed eat and said, "Cracker?" haha!) Here he is shoving the goods he found in the egg in his mouth:

Then Brady took his grandparents and his dog for a walk:

Believe it or not, this all occurred before breakfast (!), which we enjoyed @ IHOP. The three generations of Luhrings:

Following some more playing and an afternoon nap, we visited some local active adult communities to scout out a home for Grandma and Papa when they move "back east" (as Grandma says).

After having dinner of toddler tapas (read: any snacks I found in the diaper bag- Cheerios, cheese, fruit cup, and milk) in the car, the little man was exhausted and fell asleep on the ride home. Here he's utilizing his new toddler neck support with the "bow wow" and the "moo" (which he says from reading Moo, Baa, LaLaLa with Daddy each night).

This just in from Colorado...

Grandma and Papa (how Brady says "Grandpa") arrived this evening. So for the next week, we have round-the-clock entertainment for Brady and true Papa-razzi. (Papa is really good about taking pictures all the time!) Sweet!

April Showers Bring...

...out the CUTEST rain boots Ever! We are borrowing these adorable frog boots from our neighbor, Kelley. These things are so cute that I've had them sitting out under our couch table and Brett thought they were a decoration. :) The pictures below are from the rain we had today-

This one's from the crazy rain a few weeks ago (April 3)-

World's Best Dribbler

We all know how much I love funny kids t-shirts. Brady had another one on today (that I couldn't quite get a good picture of)...

As a few more teeth come poking through he really does deserve this trophy!

Lovin' Leesburg

The town of Leesburg provided all kinds of entertainment for us today! First up- swimming class:

Next- watching racquetball. Brady was mesmerized by this and probably could've stood there watching it all day long.

Then we walked around the Flower and Garden Festival. Apparently swimming class is exhausting. So while I actually listened to the live music that was available in the main square, Daddy and Brady "listened to the music" (Grandpa style...A few years ago while we were on vacation sitting by the pool with this reggae band playing, someone noticed Grandpa was asleep. He immediately responded, "No, I'm listening to the music." Since then, it's been our code for "taking a nap").

We looked at all the beautiful landscape displays and then did fun kid stuff. Brady got a balloon and a beach ball...we could've called it a day right there! He was More than happy with these! See infamous "Baww!" face below- lol!

He went fishing with Daddy (and got a prize). He stuck stickers with me (and completed his first art project). And of course, we had to stop at the playground to go down the slide. That's another of his favorite things these days.
Brady likes to walk by himself. I think it's funny to see this little person just trotting along- crowded streets or not.

But this is one of my favorites from today. Brady almost never holds my hand. He will hold Brett's though. Father and son just looked so cute...that's my boys!
