Family Day @ Kings Dominion

Today we attended our firm's annual Family Day @ Kings Dominion.  Big change when we compare the kids this year to last year.  Sylvie is now the age Brady was when we first took him to an amusement park (KD...two years ago)!
Happy Grandparents Day!
Thanks Booz Allen for providing our annual {free} entertainment on this day!
Go figure- Brett took this same pict with our "good camera" and the one that came out better (meaning everyone looks best) is from my iPhone! {photog credit: Mommy} :p

{photog credit: Papa}
As soon as we got there, we had lunch.  Sylvie's tummy was not feeling well again so she was a bit clingy to me.  But after snuggling with me through lunch, she warmed back up to Papa...and chips! :)
They both loved the mini boat!

Brady's perfected his "argh!" pirate face and wink.  Sylvie- still working on it. lol!
She did request this one with the pirate lady though. Just plain cute.

More picts at their request.  Brady said he wanted to look like he just ate Snoopy's cookie-
Papa wanted to compare/contrast with last year's pict.  fun!
2012--------------------------------------------2011
Again, her request for a photo-
O.M.G. Sylvie...just when I think she can't get any cuter, she does it again!  First off, she is simply adorable with her mad-scientist 3D glasses on.  Then, experiencing the 3D movie with her was the Most Fun.  She got off my lap and walked forward three steps with her arms out to "touch" the dinosaurs and stars that she was seeing in her glasses.  so.flipping.cute!!!!

After the 3D movie, we went through the Dinosaurs Alive experience.  It was sort of like Dinosaur Land, but these dinosaurs actually moved and made noise, which was kind of cool.  But (go figure) Brady said, "I'm scared!" at the beginning while Sylvie walked right up to the dinosaurs, waved, and introduced herself, "Hi Dinosaur! I'm Sylvie!" (of course, I told her to do that, but she had no trouble at all and kept saying, "It not scary, Brady!").  We have more video here than picts.  Brett did take a few still shots of them digging for fossils-

Sylvie was tired (she had only napped in the car...which was miraculous b/c Brady was throwing an insane tantrum for much of the time).  So she was tired and not sure she wanted to do anything.  We told her she wanted to ride this ride.  But we've been spoiled by Dutch Wonderland...b/c here they specifically said you had to be at least 48"' to drive and no lap-sitting.  The kind ride attendant (who may have gotten in trouble afterward- doh!) let Sylvie steer while I had my foot on the gas.  This made her a little less cranky.  :)
Aha!  We found the KD welcomes BAH sign we were looking for!
All these rides and yet the fav is still Daddy and Papa's shoulders.  Ride on!
(look at Rockstar Sylvie! lol!)
As the sun was setting and it was getting cooler,
the kids put their sweatshirts on and looked so darn cute!

While the boys rode one last roller coaster, we headed toward the exit, and got deterred by a booth with bubbles. Our camera card was full (so many videos!), but Sylvie was so sweet catching the bubbles with her happy squeal (the one I love) and her "Hi-ya!" to the bubbles!
This is my favorite picture of the day.  Here's the caption from my Facebook posting:
CGI: Awesome
The Thespian qualities of the Luhrings: Awesomer!
Clueless (yet somewhat compliant) 2.5 year old Sylvie: Awesomest!!
