Touch a Truck

It was a little chilly, but the kids and I headed to Touch a Truck in Fairfax this morning. I thought Brady would absolutely Love this- getting up close with all kinds of big trucks. But he was a bit clingy this morning. :( There were all kinds of vehicles there- a motorcycle, firetrucks, ambulance, cement mixers, tow trucks, boat, police car, dog-grooming-mobile, trash truck...and a HELICOPTER! It was super cool!

This kid is fascinated by trash trucks- always wanting to see them when they are driving through the neighborhood, wanting to ride like the trash man on the cart at the grocery store, asking me about them all the time. We finally get to see them up close- they were actually letting people Play with them- sit in the cab and press the buttons, press the lever to make the back of the truck move, honk the horns- including the air horns(!) and Brady's not in the mood. boo. So all this fun stuff they are letting us do and what finally gets a smile out of the kid?! The candy the sanitation company had at their table- ha!

He also liked riding the bikes and playing at the sand table of the preschool that was sponsoring the event. Really?! Dude, you can do these things every day...and yet instead of blowing the air horn and pressing the button to roll the drum of the cement truck you'd rather ride a big wheel and play in the sand?! unbelievable. :p

But after that, he was a little better "Touch a Truck" participant.

I thought the coolest part was when we got to see the police helicopter circle and then land right in front of us in the parking lot! Even Sylvie was pointing and shouting. Very neat!

For some reason eating lunch on the curb and throwing out the trash afterward was fun too. Go figure, now that we're almost ready to leave, Everything is fun for him- ha!

Sylvie was very content riding in the stroller the entire time, which was awesome and made it easy to handle them both and take pictures too. Towards the end, she wanted out to eat more lunch...and take a ride with her cool older brother. :)

Love her little hand on his shoulder!

I snapped this while stopped at a light on the way home. Proof of a super fun morning!
