I knew Brady would enjoy this task b/c he had fun earlier this week picking the flowers for our front yard. This time around, I was giving him free range (instead of limiting him to the selection I wanted). It was a gift from the heart and it was super fun too!
What I didn't realize was that Sylvie would have so much fun too. Not sure why I didn't see that coming since she wants to do everything big bro does! At first we left her in the cart while Brady started making his selections. But very quickly she began squawking to get out and join in the fun. Daddy carried her for a little bit until she made it clear that she did not want a closer spectator seat, she wanted to be in the game! lol!
It was funny though b/c it sort of looked like Supermarket Sweep b/c once they selected a plant, they'd excitedly run to put it in the cart and then race back to select another. It was making me laugh.
Sylvie so wanted to touch the pretty colored flowers.
Part 2 of the fun commenced while we were looking for potting soil. Brady thought it was super cool to climb on the piles. So guess who else did too?! No pictures of that b/c I thought it wiser to keep both hands free to avoid any injury that could result from falling off the Home Depot jungle gym a.k.a. a pallet of soil bags!
Part 3 of the fun (planting) was an orderly activity- complete with a cooperative 3 year-old who was very pleased to again make use of his gardening gloves, a 1 year-old who was most content to sit in her umbrella stroller (weird, but she Loves that thing!) and eat cheese sticks, and a dog who just wanted to be outside with his family.
