This is a long, picture-laden post...it was a fun visual day!
(and that's one of the benefits of having the Rebel...
Brett likes to take pictures now)
We went to the Loudoun County Fair today. It was all the fun that county fairs promise to be! We started off at the petting zoo portion.Brett likes to take pictures now)
Next our little cowboy surprised us all and actually rode a horse. Giddy up!
Then there was fun to be had pretend-driving the tractors:
Brady was not pleased to be sharing the driver's seat. He muscled his way and blocked Sylvie's access to the steering wheel. Here he is saying, "No Sylvie! Stop it!"and giving her, not just The Hand, but the Whole Arm.
Look how sweet she is looking at me as if to say,
"Mama, you see this? He's got sharing issues."
Indeed baby girl, indeed.
It's a good thing his sweet baby sister is easy going. Brady suggested a solution- "Put Sylvie in the scoop," he said. She's happy either way. Sweet little bunny. :)
We sent Brady off to the next one and the little lady got her turn.
But again, she was just as happy being a passenger as well.
(I love this one!)
"Hey Big Bro! Do you know where we're going?"

Then we took a break for dinner. Brady thoroughly enjoyed his watermelon. The evidence of his enjoyment is not as obvious in the pictures as it was in real life. Watermelon juice was All over his face and his clothes. An adorable summertime moment!
After dinner we hit the midway for some carnival-like action. I thought this was comical. Here's everyone (Sylvie included) staring at this twisty turny ride that made me ill just glancing at it:
This was Brady's first amusement park ride. He wanted me to go with him. I was a little bit too tall (and in "the red") but the guy let me ride with my boy anyway. So fun!

Brady kept saying, "Again!" as we went around the circle. It was a riot! He instructed me to sit in back and "you drive too."
Next stop: the Ferris wheel. Brady Loved it!

It was past Sylvie's bedtime, and Grandma finally got her to stop holding her eyes open while we were on the Ferris Wheel. Sweet dreams, sweet girl.
For his final ride, Brady went solo in the cars again. He seemed worried at first that I wasn't going and needed to have me buckle his seat belt, but was ALL smiles once he got moving!
Our final fair activity was playing a midway game of course! Brady wanted to go fishing. He didn't get the concept of the "game for a prize." He just wanted to play with the fishing pole. Alrighty then- definitely a well spent $2. Fifteen minutes later, Daddy finally hooked a whale for him and he got a Nemo fish prize for his effort.
