Fishing and Bird Watching

Today was full of new fun things for Brady to do! He spent his morning playing with Meemaw (rather than going to daycare). Then I took a 20 minute break from work and we all went to story time at the library. This was our first time going. It was sort of fun. It could have been a little more animated for Brady's liking, but it was something different to do.

Later that afternoon, Brady went fishing and bird watching. :) We had to take Romey for a follow-up visit to the vet. He goes to a vet located inside PetSmart. So while Meemaw sat in the waiting area with her furry grandchild, I took Brady to see some other animals. When we were at the zoo, we never did make it to the avery or the aquarium section. No worries! PetSmart was just as good as the zoo, as far as Brady was concerned. He's never seen birds in cages and I think was a little confused at first. Initially when he saw them flying around behind bars, he looked at me and said, "Bir?" with rising intonation (like a question) when he usually shouts out his observation ("Bir!") when he sees them flying outside. I took video so that Brett could see him having fun at the free aquarium/avery that is PetSmart:

Note how "Bir!" face (upper left)
looks similar to "Baww!" face:

He seemed to be a little scared of the fish at first. Until he realized that when his little hand came in contact with the glass, the fish all scattered. What a fun cause-and-effect experience! Seeing his pudgy little hands pressed to the glass was a precious sight! Although given those prints and the animal disturbances he caused, I'm sure the PetSmart folks now commiserate with their colleagues at Harris Teeter and Target regarding "that crazy lady with the kid and the camera." haha!
