Legoland- Day 1

Today we visited Legoland.  What a fun place for preschoolers- a good combination of amusement park and play activities.  Papa took a few picts before we left this morning-
and he also took some of us all in the minivan, off to the park!
It's kind of funny for me to see Brett driving a minivan.
These were the final pictures taken with our SLR camera before we realized that the lens was broken.  omg. We are one of those "vacations of a lifetime" and our camera is inoperable. ugh. Thank goodness for Papa and his camera!  Hooray Papa!

Maybe we can borrow this Lego tourist's camera! ha!

Double-decker merry-go-round; we went to the top, of course!
 Lego dude sighting!
The FAV ride indeed! The "Beetle Bounce" was Legoland's version of the Frog Hopper.  Kind of funny b/c we're so spoiled by Dutch Wonderland.  The ride stops and the kids simply said "Again!" without budging and getting off (you know, b/c they rode it 23 consecutive times @ DW!).
Brett says this was Sylvie's first REAL coaster...and of course, the Littlest Luhring LOVED it.  Brett took video of her on it- very cool that there's evidence of her pure joy!

Miniland was pretty awesome!  There was a Lego Star Wars section that the boys enjoyed-
 May the Sixth (not Sith) be with them! {get it? today is May 6th}
It's as if we never left town...complete with cranky Sylvie and all- ha!
And then Lego cities- DC, San Fran, Vegas, NYC, Miami, Kennedy Space Center, Daytona Speedway- all so detailed and totally awesome!
Brady requested a pict by the Lego skateboarder in a gift shop. You're awesome, kid!
The Dynamic Duo gets an assist!
We watched an entertaining water show and then got pictures with some cast members, the Lego "Imperial Soldiers" and Salty, the good pirate.
When in Rome, uh Legoland, you build!  Our final activities of the day were building robots and Lego cars to race.
Definitely a boy thing- look at all three generations having at it-

The first (and only) trade of the day.  You can trade Lego guys with any of the staff members.  We brought one of Brady's generic guys along with us (and then bought a few others at the park...they liked the ones we bought for them so just kept them).  Besides, Brady is pretty shy and I wasn't sure he'd ever initiate a trade.  But this employee had a girl with brown hair in a pony tail and I knew Sylvie would like her.  I asked her if she wanted to trade, and she was totally game!
 Quite pleased with her trade!
Again, it's as if we never left home, ha!  Lego games on iPads and Wii.
It took us adults ForEver to figure out how to build a car out of legos.  It was only after asking an 8-year old kid for advice and then copying his design that we had some working prototypes- HA!
