A Grand Day; Fit for a King

Today we celebrated Grandparents Day per usual, as it coincided with Booz Allen Family Day @ King's Dominion.  Sylvie is getting over a stomach bug, so she wasn't sure she'd be riding any rides.  But when we drove down this morning, we really didn't expect that we All would not ride one.single.ride.  Yes, that's right- we drove 1.5 hours to an amusement park today and did not ride a ride!  (good thing it was free!) ;p  It was hot, and the lines seemed longer than usual this year, and nobody was really feeling it (between sister's stomach and brother's blister, it was an ailing day).

This was the one ride we were going to ride...that broke
and got shut down after we waited in line for 45 minutes. sigh.

It's hot and we're melting a bit.

We walked the dinosaur exhibit again-

I kept Papa updated on our progress since they didn't go through with us this time.

 Syl finally fell asleep around 4 PM, insisting that she needed a blanket.  I'm sure it was like 120 degrees under there since it was like 100 degrees outside, but whatever works sister!

The picture we took upon entrance is not nearly as awesome as last year,
but it's still cute (cranky Sylvie and all). :)

Souvenirs to remember this (relatively uneventful) day- ha!
Brady chose a pirate ship model thing and then chose a super sweet gift for Sylvie- a necklace in a dolphin jewelery case.  Brett said he picked it all by himself.  Awesome, little man, great job!
