We got on the road after lunch so that naps would coincide with the ~3 hour drive to Lancaster. We checked in to the hotel and decided to go swimming before dinner. We gave Brady his newest hand-me-down from a friend so that he could be one of his favorite superheroes in the water. He was so excited, and so cute- and did pretty well "swimming."
We weren't sure how sleeping would go. It's always a little tricky when we're away from home and out of our routine. We had a suite. Brady was on the pull-out couch (which he thought was the neatest thing). Sylvie was near him in a pack-n-play. Brett and I had a room with a door that separated us from the kids which was nice so that we didn't have to go to bed @ 9 PM like we often did on our last family trip. (Although honestly, that wasn't so bad either- kind of nice keeping a pre-school sleep schedule.) The kids did Great! It was tricky (and sometimes annoying but mostly just Very Amusing) putting them down b/c they were so excited- both to be in a new place and to be together. But it was so late each night; we knew they had to be exhausted. It was kind of hilarious though to hear them laughing so hard at each other. From behind the slightly open door of our room and in the darkness of the living room/suite space, we could hear Sylvie and Brady flopping around in their sleep spaces and laughing hysterically. They kept calling out to each other, "Baaaaydeeee! Nigh nigh! heeheeheehee!" "Night night Sylvie! heeheeheehee!" repeat, repeat, repeat. It was pretty darn cute. :)
Here they are this first night in Brady's bed getting ready to (sort of) listen to a bedtime story-
