Clownin' Around

Apparently the theme at Brady's school today was clowns. They made this silly hat and Miss Ashley painted their faces. Sylvie even noticed and kept trying to touch Brady's face. :p

Happy Memorial Day!

Isn't she the cutest "All American Girl?"

Brady experienced the slip-n-slide for the first time today. We figured he would totally love it this year- and we figured correctly! At first he was a little tentative, but as I actually encouraged his running and falling/sliding, he was loving it! (I usually Discourage this...I swear he has NO 3T pants left. I cut them all in to shorts b/c every.single.one had holes in the knees from Brady purposefully falling and sliding in them!) Sylvie was not slipping and sliding but had fun in the pool portion at the end that collected water.

Sylvie had a wardrobe change for round 2 which took place after some good naps. She looked so.darn.cute in her new swimsuit.
Brady often checks on Sylvie to make sure she's okay. That's what he's doing here- with his big brother hand on her shoulder, leaning down to talk to her. Love them!

Brady and Papa started a garden with the green beans and zucchini seeds Grandma and Papa brought over this evening. It'll be so fun to watch them grow, pick them, and eat them!

Strawberry Festival

This Memorial Day weekend is a strawberry-filled one! We went to the Delaplane Strawberry Festival this morning. Unfortunately for Daddy, the weekend was also a work/proposal-filled one. boo. He stayed home, but the grandparents, the kids, and I had a good time at the festival. Doesn't Sylvie look cute in a theme-appropriate outfit from the Maya Collection?

Brady had a blast playing the kiddie carnival games. He liked throwing the baseball at the bottle pyramid just b/c it was fun to throw a ball to purposefully knock something down. He got a stamp for participation there. He also liked throwing the ping pong ball in to a bucket of prizes. He visited that one twice to get 2 mini dinosaurs. He won a cupcake for a random music chairs type of game.
For the first time, the kids had body paint. It was supposed to be face-painting. But #1, Brady's never been a fan of that and #2, when it's on their face, they can't see it. Brady got a football on his arm and Sylvie got balloons. They liked it- although these picture seem to indicate otherwise. :p

We took a break for lunch. The kids each had a smoothie. It was adorable to first see Sylvie drink hers as I held it for her; and second, to see them Both drink as I held them (you know, b/c Brady Had to do it "like Sylvie"). I'll tell you- the view I had was so darn cute!

They really are adorable and really do like to snuggle each other...most of the time. Brady kept hugging her, but by the time I started photographing the moment, it had turned in to more of an accidental headlock. whoops- too much love big bro!
Brady wanted to get in the stroller...but only b/c it was a single ride and Sylvie was in it. This, of course, bothered Sylvie. Finally I said, "Fine. I don't want to hear it. You're both getting in." So we created a redneck double stroller. ha! Sylvie loved it b/c she got to snuggle with Brady. Brady was fine with it for a few minutes and then it really worked out quite well. He could not handle it and asked to get out to walk with me. Problem solved. :)

The petting zoo portion was fun. Sylvie was loving this one cow. Brady would have been more in to it if we hadn't just bought kettle corn (which he tried for the first time- and Loved!). He preferred just hanging out with me and eating the kettle corn. That's cool, dude.

Strawberry Shortcakes

We went strawberry picking this morning. Yumm, yumm! Brady was a good little worker, but didn't snack nearly as much as he did last year. The grandparents reported that Sylvie had no trouble at all grasping the concept of picking and had a blast too!

Here we are getting ready to head out. I followed the recommendations and put them both in red in preparation for the evidence of strawberry sampling. Brady took a few of these picts with Papa's camera...bet you can't guess which ones!

We attempted an "entering the strawberry patch photo." But Brady had sunscreen burning in his eyes, Brett was trying to set up the camera, and Sylvie was done after she'd already "cheeeeesed" three times even though no one else was ready.

I love how he's grasping his Daddy's shirt in these.

As this little strawberry shortcake enjoyed the fruits of her labor, she confirmed that dressing the kids in red was a smart move. :)
