Book Character Parade

Then we watched Harry Potter in the rest of the school's Book Character Parade later that afternoon.

Our little Harry seems half-dressed for Quidditch practice...ha!  Tie and oxford on top, athletic pants on the bottom.  :)

Sylvie's KG Fall Party

I'm kg room mom again and we had Sylvie's Fall Party so I got to hang out in kg this morning- love it!  First the AM kindergartners paraded in their "book character costumes" around the school.  Hermione Granger was super excited to see her big brother in his class.  :)

Then we made skeleton cupcakes and spider crackers, spider hat crafts for the kids, and keepsake "Batty for Daddy" and "I Love My Mummy" crafts.  We decorated orange fruit cups and played Halloween games.

Allergy Testing

The kids had allergy skin tests today.  Here they are after the skin pricks of the allergens; watching tv, waiting for a reaction.  Turns out Brady has a longer season allergy than we thought.  His allergy plan includes giving him Zyrtac from Valentine's Day through 4th of July.  He's also allergic to cats and horses.  Good data!  Sylvie is still allergic to peanuts and cats (and has seasonal allergies to tree pollen as well).  Due to her peanut allergy, we had to get blood drawn for a more in-depth evaluation.  We went to Quest Labs right for the blood draw right after this appointment.  Oh poor sweet Sylvie.  She did Not like the blood draw.  But she's not an idol patient.  Not only did she cry during the draw, she also yelled at the lady, "Stop it!  Stop it!"  She's a forceful one, our sweet Sylvie.  Turns out her allergy is to the three proteins in peanuts that cause systemic reactions. :(  Which means her allergy plan includes an epipen.  The good news is that her overall number is very low...but still an anaphalctic reaction is not one we want to mess with or see ever!

Turkey in Disguise and Sugar Rush

Two years later, it's Sylvie's turn to disguise a turkey (remember the Minions we did when Brady was in kg?)  KG Sylvie's turkey was disguised as Yoda.  (Brett has been prepping the kids for the new Star Wars movie by showing them the older ones recently.)

While Brady was at swim practice this afternoon, little Hermione Granger (from Harry Potter) and I worked out magic :) to score some sweets @ Brambleton Town Center.

VoW finally got the speed bump we requested this year. We want another one on our street, in front of our house. So we made one. :)  Indeed Children at Play...and today we were All out playing with the neighbors at Belly Love Brewery and Stone Tower Winery.

Zoo to You

Happy Birthday Papa!

We didn't get to see him on his actual birthday, but Sylvie was dressed for it.  :)

We did get to see him this weekend @ Ford's for dinner.  Sylvie made us all party hats (but misplaced a few, so we shared).  :)

"Sick" Day

I go in to Sylvie's classroom weekly to run through site words with the kids.  Today Sylvie said her tummy hurt (and she said that this morning at breakfast too) and asked that I take her home with me.  I don't think she really is sick, but I told her to stick it out in kg for another hour and then she could take the bus home instead of going to kg extension this afternoon.  Turns out she is Fine. :)  We grabbed smoothies for lunch and then surprised Brady @ his lunch time.

 After lunch she played with her pals across the street (Taylor and Blake) and then we walked to school at dismissal to get Brady.  Sweet pict of Taylor and Sylvie.:)
