A Frozen Birthday

Sylvie had her first birthday party (that included friends; other than family) today!  Yay!  She's been saying she'd like a "princess party" for her birthday for a while.  The trouble is, she has mostly boy friends.  So I was going to do a winter-themed party and say the girls could dress as princesses if they wanted to.  Then we saw Frozen last week and we figured why not incorporate a little Elsa and Anna (and Olaf too!)?!  She had her good friends from school- Colin, Leif, Landon, Allie, and Avika, plus Emma and Violet, plus our neighbors Taylor and Blake, and Bella.  They (sort of) did activities, as best four-year-olds can!  We colored mugs for hot cocoa; made snowflake necklaces; played "pin the nose on Olaf;" built snowmen with homemade snow (that was like playdough); and had lunch.  We weren't planning on opening gifts at the party, but the kids kept asking and it was so cute to see how excited they were for the Birthday Girl to open their present- so we let it happen and it was Great!  So fun!  Happy birthday sweet girl!  We love celebrating You!
"Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?"
Lunch was Nutella sandwiches cut out in to snowflake shapes, Olaf cheesesticks, bananas (that we were going to make in to snowmen), carrot stick snowman noses, and frozen squeezie yogurt. ;p
 Olaf cupcakes for the celebration.

 Make a wish!
We did a little karaoke and the girls rocked the Frozen songs and the bible songs from school.  :)
Miss Ashley and Ms. Tina came over and made.her.day!
We took some timer shot fam fotos afterward.  Despite a finicky birthday subject, they came out cute!
(that pink streak is the balloon she kept throwing up and looking at- ha!)

Yes, movement in this "low light setting" causes a blur,
as the photo-bomers proved time and time again...
