Happy Birthday Luhrings; Happy Anniversary Abrahams!

This weekend Brett and I celebrated our 35th birthdays early by taking our first trip alone since we had kids. We went to a fabulous b&b in Charlottesville. We took Brett's RX-7 for the 2-hour road trip. We couldn't remember when the last time we were in the two-seater sports car together was (since it doesn't hold car seats). It was poetic- our first date alone since we had kids was in the same car that we had our actual first date almost ten years ago in...awww. We went with the Abrahams who were celebrating their 8th anniversary early (their wedding anniversary is my birthday). It was an AMAZING weekend. We ate leisurely dinners (and enjoyed conversation; and didn't look at the kids' menu)...and even more leisurely breakfasts. The first morning we sat down to breakfast at 9:30 and sat talking and enjoying the mountain rain for FIVE uninterrupted hours. It was glorious! The only reason we did get moving (@ 2:30) was that we decided to go see a movie (Crazy Stupid Love- which was cute). The b&b was incredible, and the time spent with good friends was truly rejuvenating. Happy Birthday to us and Happy Anniversary to you, Sat and Vik!

And no- I am not 4" taller than Sat. I have on my super fun "not mommy-wear" platform shoes. I'm only about a 1/2" taller than Sat...we know this b/c we did back-to-back measuring during that five-hour conversation. :)
