Brady can sort of count to ten. It seems to be a little more advanced than rote counting, which is the naming of the number words in correct sequence and usually where pre-schoolers begin, because he often uses his fingers or can look at our fingers and count in succession. But we don't think he quite has the concept of numbers yet. The exception to this is #2. He'll look and tell us if he has 2 of something- "2 dogs, 2 cookies, 2 books" etc. In the video I am holding up my fingers to help him count along. I'm holding the camera though and only have one hand, so at 7, he looks and says "2." :)
He never starts with 1. We tell him 1 and then he goes on to 2. I love how he says 6 and 7. But he doesn't say 7 in this video. After Brett whispers 7 to him, he says, "8!" He almost always skips 9. He skips it here and Brett says, "9" so he says, "10." Little monkey!
