Daisy Troop- Promises

Today during our troop meeting we:
1.) Made a Daisy bracelet craft.  This activity was to keep the girls occupied upon arrival and was used to reinforce knowledge of their Right hand, which is the one we use for the GS Scout Sign.  Knowledge of right/left hands is also helpful during our closing circle.

2.) Had "opening ceremonies" (job selection/flag presentation/GS Promise Recitation)

3.) Earned the Promise Center for Daisy on the uniform
We read Pinkie Promise (a Pinkalicious book) and discussed what "promise" means (you do what you say will do) and reviewed the parts of the GS Promise.  We discussed ways we can serve God- going to church/chapel, praying, doing good things, helping our family, etc.  We discussed how we can serve our country- being a good citizen at home/school/in your neighborhood, saying the pledge, etc.  We discussed what people we could help and how-  our parents and teachers by listening, our friends when they are hurt or doing a craft or activity where they need help, etc.  We practiced reciting the GS Promise again and made the Promise/Sign craft.  We told them to look at the craft and review the GS Promise so that they could recite it on their own.

4.) Made a Thanksgiving craft
This activity was supposed to again reinforce knowledge of right/left (sort of)...but really we all just love crafts and they're festive and cute! :)

What fun friends!!
