Splashdown

The summer fun continues!  Today we went to Splashdown Waterpark.  It was a little chilly, but the lazy river sure was fun and we got to catch up with Grandma and Papa now that they've returned from their trip to Colorado.  Then the kids are going home with them for a sleepover as they round out the week @ Grandparents' Camp.  :)

To Do: Date with Mommy

It's on our Summer Fun List and we're getting it done!  Today's "Date Day" forecast: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 (free summer movies -whoohoo!)

 Next stop...King Pinz!
o m g ...when she didn't use the rack thing, that ball rolled so slow it looked like it was standing still.  It was so funny and so cute.  All of us were cheering for it just to make it down the lane.
A date with shotz!  Now these are shots I can handle...milk with a cookie chaser! How cute is that?!

iPicts @ IHOP

The kids and I went on a date tonight b/c Brett was working late.  They chose IHOP, of course.  IHOP makes them think of their grandparents, so they asked me to text Grandma and Papa to see what they were doing and to show them that we were eating breakfast for dinner.  :)

Grandma and Papa were "sheltered in place" @ Denver airport b/c of a tornado watch.  When we got Papa's "all clear" message when we got home, this is the pict they wanted texted back to him. :)

Beefcake

Swim Team...it does a body good (and when you're a good-natured 6 year old, you make your parents giggle when they tell you to show us your muscles)  We had the end-of-season party tonight and had fun @ the pool!

Sweet and Sassy

The Village of Leesburg had their annual summer block party today and the girls helped promote the Sweet and Sassy store.  Bella and Sylvie handed out "Sassy bucks" and did a great job!

Demo Derby

This was on my summer bucket list...go to a demolition derby.  I remember going with my family when I was a kid, and Loving it!  As expected, the kids (and Brett) loved it too.  It was SO fun for me to see them all jump and go "ooooohhhhh!" when the first cracking Hit came!  What a great time!
First some fair fun @ the carni-
 Yup, lifetime fans right here!
They had their own demo derby in between heats while the cars were being removed and the arena cleaned up.  so cute!  (of course, Brady parroted the announcer, "Welcome to the Demolition Deeeeeeeerrrrrrbeeeeee!  Oh!  That one's gonna leave a mark!  He's still in it though!"
Afterward, we went down to get a closer look at the cars...and yes, Sylvie requested a picture with Every one.  lol!  Here's just a sampling-
Yes, it's the stage she's in (sometimes) where she wants her picture with Everything.  Hence the blow-up pretzel above and this tin-man garbage can and decorative pig. ha!
Brady came home from camp with this the next day.  He's so awesome!  Despite the "Devlishin Drby" title and the extra 0 on the 2014 station wagon, it's a pretty accurate artist rendition of last night's entertainment- right down to the arena outline, the car stuck on the concrete berm, the fallen-off bumper, the "extended cab" of the station wagon, and the reverse impact style of the drivers.

Pinkalicious

We went to the Adventure Theater and saw Pinkalicious live on stage today!  What fun!!
Bel and Syl, with a mouthful of cheese-sandwich, but whatever. "Cheeese!"
"Look Daddy, no hands!" My little bunny Loved the bunny on the carousel!
 Movie Star Syl

 Pinkalicious cast and fans
Her idea...and I Love it. "Mommy can we take a picha of us kissing?! Okay, now look at the camera. mmmm-whaaa!" Yes please. Love you little miss!

Final Swim Meet...and FIRST Place!

Brady's final swim meet was held @ Brambleton today.  It was cold this morning and we were camped outside the pool waiting for B's events.

Brady, Sawyer, and Lincoln with one of their coaches.
25M Free- last time he did it...and he rocked it!
But what he REALLY rocked was his final Boys 6 and Under 25M Backstroke.  (no picts, but I remember it clearly...we were standing at the end screaming and cheering)  HE WON!!!!!  I mean, not just his heat, but the entire EVENT.  Yup, dude came in FIRST PLACE for the Boys 6 and Under 25M Backstroke!!!  You've come a long way, Brady!  You.Are.Awesome!!!!!  We are so so so proud of you!!!
