Hanging with the Hounds

We went to Colton's neighborhood tonight. They were having a fun event with the Loudoun Hounds (our soon-to-be professional baseball team).

We had dinner at this yummy little Italian place.  We didn't expect to have dinner And a show (so I didn't bring the camera in).  But luckily I had my phone to capture Sylvie's serenades.  She started by making up her "sweet song" she called it.  It went, "sweet song, sweet song. Where is my commercial?"  what?! hilarious!  Then she continued on with a medley from her toddler repertoire.  She also requested some picts and she's so cute, we obliged-

She was loving the iPhone cam b/c I turned it around and held it in front of us so she could see the screen.  what a little ham!

Vacation Hijacking

When we were talking with Vik and Sat this past weekend, they mentioned that they were taking their boys to Busch Gardens on Thursday.  We have tickets from when we were last there.  We'd been meaning to go again, but wanted to go with friends so that Brett would have a ride buddy for the Griffon.  So we hijacked another Abraham vacation and decided to meet up with them in Williamsburg today.  We just can't help but stalk them...they are too fun!  We took a fam foto before we left b/c Brady needs one for his preschool class-

So Brady's been having "tummy trouble" all week, but it seems to be under control now.  We're about 40 minutes into the drive and Sylvie says, "My tummy hurts!" but we don't think too much of it until she starts crying and throwing up (it truly was just a little bit, but still she definitely got sick).  We pull over.  Brett cleans up the car seat and I clean up Sylvie and change her clothes.  Then we get right back in the car and press on.  Yup, parents of the year citation again right here!  Take two sick kids to an amusement park filled with all kinds of junk food?  Well of course...we're meeting friends there, and Daddy wants to ride the Griffon!  LOL!  In our defense, Sylvie did seem fine afterward.  She even requested that I take Ruffy's picture after she'd outfitted him with her sunglasses.  Doesn't she look completely happy and healthy?!  (and she is adorable b/c she Consistently puts sunglasses on upside down- on herself or on others, as evidenced here with Ruffy)

When we arrived, we went to find the Abrahams and walked through Ireland.  Sylvie saw the tree and said, "Wee-mem-bah when we pick da tree's nose Daddy?!  I wanna do it again.  Mommy, take a pic-cha!"  This time Daddy tried to put her up the tree's nose! :)

"Hellooooo Abrahams!  Your vacation stalkers have arrived!"

is what I said to Sat on the phone to let her know 

we were here and looking for them! ;p

First ride: Brady chose not to ride the Clydesdales this time, but the A boys and Sylvie had fun on this pseudo-carousel.

Syl's other fav b/c it's like the Frog Hopper @ DW.  Look at her happy face!

 

 

 The Abraham and Luhring versions 2.2 took a snooze in Italy
while the 2.1 versions rode rides with their daddies.

Brady was telling the daddies what was going to happen, "You guys are going to go all the way up and then Drop down!"  Uncle Vik and Daddy were not so sure...

Sat got this amazing shot of them waving to us on the way down! Awesome!

We tried to have Brady take a picture of the grown-ups.

Then the Abrahams headed to their hotel

First Day of Pre-K 2012

For some reason the realization that today is the "first day of school" almost slipped my mind this morning.  Maybe b/c both of our kids already go to daycare and this has been our daily routine for four years?  Maybe b/c Brady was technically in preschool last year in the Poppies room?  Maybe b/c transition week from the Poppies room to the Azaleas room was all of last week?  Maybe b/c the first day in the new classroom happened a week earlier this year and it's Only August 27?!  I don't know, but I almost missed a photo opp.  doh!  We did take one quick pict before heading out this morning.  But yeah, this is the first day of the last year Brady will be in preschool, and not yet public school kindergarten.  Still wrapping my mind (and heart!) around that one!
