Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Our home had a visit from Lucky the Leprachaun last night.  He thinks he's so funny (and the kids do too...and you know, they're only little once so while they're going to get a kick out of this, I'll be there at midnight cleaning up the house only to make the "mess" more noticeable- ha!)  He was quite "mis-cheev-ee-us" as Brady says!  He hung the kids' shoes on their jacket hooks and threw their jackets all over the living room.
He turned over chairs, tossed pillows, left cabinets open, pulled out green bowls/spoons/forks/cups,

He colored pictures all green, took out green crayons and markers, and even took our outside wreath that we'd decorated for St. Patty's Day and replaced the one we had inside (that wasn't green).

He also took out every green toy in the house and piled them all up in the playroom.  AND he put the kids' SPD shirts on their stuffies who weren't green (boy, did they get a kick out of that!)
But he also left them a note telling them that he loved our house, had lots of fun, and apologized for making a mess.  He told them if they cleaned up his mess, he'd give them a "treasure map" leading them to his pot of gold.  (btw, this idea came about yesterday when Sylvie and I were taking a walk.  She noticed someone had a leprechaun flag outside their house and asked me, "Mommy, do leprechauns live 'dare?
"No Syl, they live in Ireland."
"What?!  With Jake and the other pirates?!" (referring to Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Disney Junior show)
"No Sylvie, not NEVERLand, IRELand."  (I was laughing so hard!  But it gave me the treasure map idea; they love things like that!)
Treasure map...leading to a pot of gold!
Action shot captured Syl's flowing hair- LOL!
Lucky Charms! (they've never had them before)
No pinching here...even their jammies had green!
Erin go bragh!

Twilight Sparkle (purple pony) accessory optional.  ;p
(This sweet sweater was in the package the kids received from Mimi last night.  Sylvie insisted on wearing it today. Thanks Mimi!)

Dance Like No One is Watching You're Playing Football

Definition of compromise in the Luhring house: dance party while playing football. Lol!
So awesome- it makes us all happy (brilliant idea credit for super fun game: Brady) extra points earned for "dance face/game face"
I wish I had taken video.  Brady was freakin' Hilarious!  He was all, "Okay, Mommy- if you don't have the football, you have to dance.  Okay, how about you copy the person with the football?  Do this Mommy, {Saturday Night Fever point} now do this Mommy {touchdown knees/dance}."  Seriously I had the BEST time.  SO fun!

Pretty in Pink and Red

Her cheeks are still pretty bright pink...hmm, matches the circles on her dress today.  ;p
(Yes, she's doing her dance pose, that very much resembles the Karate Kid Crane.)
I was running late picking the kids up from school and getting to dance. So I told Sylvie to not bother with tights and just keep her brown leggings on. She was not a fan, but I thought she looked so cute! I forgot the camera though, and took picts of her when we got home-

DST

Somehow even though we "lost" an hour today, we still spent SEVEN hours playing outside with friends.  How awesome is that?!?! Lunch was quite the scene- love it!  Picnic with pals!
Here's Brady asking Cameron for some "pistachios."  LOL!  Tiff was holding the bag of Oreos without looking at it and said, "Does anyone want pistachios? Do you like pistachios?"  Uh, yes please!  I like the Davis pistachio!  :p
We played all afternoon up at the school, yet the Luhrings and Pauleys still didn't want to part and we wound up at the Pauleys house. Ahoy!

We finally walked back home around 6:30.  Little sister fell asleep sitting up in the wagon before we even reached the end of the Pauley's driveway- ha!
At one point, Jenny did say, "Do you think we should have sunblock on the kids?" and someone said, "No, it's not too bad out here."  Apparently seven straight hours outside does indeed warrant SPF.  When we got home, I figured the kids were just flushed from being in the fresh air and being active all day long. Fail.  :(   But they're cute anyway...and it really was a super awesome day!

Sweet Frogs with Sweet Friends

The Abrahams were in town for one last visit from Richmond before they move to NJ.  We met for dinner and hit up Sweet Frogs afterward.  Yumm!

"Like Ms. Paige"

We went to a make-up dance class this Saturday morning (b/c one of our Monday classes was cancelled due to snow).  I told Sylvie that I didn't think Ms. Kristen would be teaching today; that it would likely be Ms. Paige.  Sylvie LOVES them both.  She asked if I could put her hair up like Ms. Paige (who has long gorgeous red hair that she always ties up in bun).  She asked for "pony posse ballerina pictures with my Ms. Paige hair."  Of course, I obliged!

Wouldn't you know it?  For the first time ever (Paige confirmed that) Ms. Paige wore her hair half up today.  lol!  Sylvie kept saying to her, "I have hair like you!"  And halfway through the class she pulled her bun out, brought the hair tie to me, and said, "Can you do it like Ms. Paige now?  A pony in the back, but not all the way." ha!
Dolls in the Attic...Sylvie's favorite game!

Praise Jesus!

Look who's finally out of sweatpants and a "sports shirt!" Praise Jesus! (literally...preschool instructions today were to "dress up to help praise Jesus with a parade" ha!)  Seriously, the only things Brady wants to wear these days are sweats and sports shirts.  sigh.

Crazy Socks, Crazy Cute

Today was supposed to be Sylvie's class's "crazy socks day," but with the snow day yesterday, they never officially put out the message.  So she wore sort of crazy tights, but still looked crazy cute! :)
Yup, she insisted on me taking a picture of her showing us her craziness.  You got it, girl-

Snowquestered

Pre-school (and daycare) are closed due to snow today, so my home office has been invaded. These new shortie employees don't realize they will be "snowquestered" shortly b/c I need it quiet in here. Daddy offered a temporary solution when he procured an "alternate work location" for them. {He's so awesome!} They loved it, but found it a little too wet and drafty over time.
So they've resorted to watching a movie in my (home office) conference room, aka the family room. ha!

Seussical

They're celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday this week at the kids' school.  Today Brady's class had "crazy socks day."  Brady wore his shin guard socks with mis-matched Spider-man and Halloween socks.  Little sister joined in the fun too and picked out her own craziness.
I really don't think he meant to do this (b/c he said to me, "oops! I need to add an 's' to the Luhrings") but I LOLed when I saw this random drawing Brady brought home this week.  Look out Dr. Seuss and the Lorax, Brady and his "The Luhring" are the new sheriffs in town! ;p
