During this vacation, the Rocks, the Senior Luhrings, and Brett went to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure and stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel. The kids and I stayed in Ormond Beach with Mimi. Tonight we met up for dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. I didn't take any pictures, but we did purchase the one taken by the Hard Rock's photographer. Connor's cousin, Dominic was given the HR guitar to hold. It cracks me up how it looks like he's a rock star and we're all in awe to have our picture taken with him (even Sylvie who indeed looks star-struck). lol!
Here's a close-up of Sylvie in her bubble dress outfit. Love it!!!

A Day At The Beach
We went to the beach for a couple hours today. This was the kids' first real beach visit. Brady had a brief moment on the sand in Mexico when he was 10 months old, but he didn't really get it (much like Sylvie this time around). We had lunch at the beach. Then while we girls lounged around (Sylvie in her SPF tent, me exposing my pale winter skin to the sun), the boys dug in the sand, flew a kite, and played in the water. "The waves crashed me!" is how Brady tells it.

Day One Fun
We've only been at Mimi's for one day and Brady's having a blast! Squeals and giggles echoed throughout the pool area as Mimi had Brady swimming with the noodles and scooping up Easter eggs and his (plastic) "guys" which were thrown in to the water.

Another genetic indicator that Brady's my son: we sweat the same way...by beading on our noses. It's something I remember my family always pointing out when I was little. It cracks me up to see it on this cute little face! Love him!
Mimi's tub has a super fun sprayer nozzle and she had bubble bath...so the good times continued through bath time!
Shuffleboard may be an activity reserved mostly for retirees, but this kid's a natural! And he Loved it...well, when he made up his own rules. Between the "hockey pucks," the "big sticks" (as he called them), and the chalkboard, this game was a winner in Brady's book! He's so prepared for 2072 when he'll be 65 and maybe retired- haha!

South of the Border
We just had to do it again...stop and see Pedro, that is! We attempted to repeat some of the photos we took when Brady was just 2 months old, but #1, my memory was failing me and #2 Brady has a mind of his own. He loved the giraffes and zebras, but wanted no part of the gorilla or to do other things I wanted him to.
Oh well. At least he was game for posing for the alligator lunch again. Sylvie was served as dessert because she's So Sweet. :)

February 2008<---------------------->April 2010
We also attempted some family pictures. Go figure- the kids looked great in every picture I took of them with their grandparents, but were not so cooperative for the pictures with us. Still, So much fun and a great break to get out of the car and stretch our legs!Headed South
We're loaded and ready for the drive down the east coast to Mimi's house! The plan is to go as far as we can today, while enjoying the journey along the way and then get to Florida Sunday afternoon. Grandma and Papa are also driving and we'll be meeting up with them on 95 South. Until then (when we can transfer some of our gear to their car), we're stuffed!
Excellent! Both kids are sleeping. This is pretty much how Sylvie spent the entire car ride. She's a totally awesome traveler.
We had to get a little more creative with Brady. He had toys, books, stuffed animals, and we gave in and had some DVD watching too. He was mesmerized...and quiet- whoohoo!
We stopped for a picnic lunch and let Brady get out, run around, and have fun.

Our Stand-in Family Dog
Again today while I was nursing Sylvie, I had to investigate toddler silence. I walk in to the family room to find Cheerios all over the floor and Brady face down in the carpet chewing Cheerios and quietly giggling. When I asked him what he was doing he replied, "I'm bein' a doggie!" Apparently in Romey's absence, someone has to fill the role! :p (Romey has been a "snowbird" or rather snowdog, this past month and went to Florida with Mimi. We're going to get him next week.) It cracked me up and I had to video it for Daddy!

Early Easter
It's no April Fools Day joke...Brady got to celebrate Easter a little early with his grandparents. Since we are driving to Florida this weekend, they decided to give him his basket this evening. Fun!
