The weather was p.e.r.f.e.c.t.this evening to attend the first of the monthly outdoor summer concerts held in our neighborhood. We met several friends there and that made it fun for us all! This was the first time we all went as a family. (I went 3 years ago for a GNO when I was just about 8 weeks pregnant with Sylvie.) I'm pretty sure we weren't exactly the picture perfect suburban family as we entered the space and were told we had to put our glass bottled beers in cups. Okay, no problem...except that we didn't bring a bottle opener. So there Brett is hitting the beer bottle on the side of the kids' wagon (like you would to a counter top) to get access to his alcohol. LOL! Let me tell you, it was a sight to see! So he finally gets the bottle open using my keys and we set up camp next to the Pauleys. I'm talking to Kristin, so I didn't see this happen. But I turn around to the sound of Sylvie wailing and see her d.r.i.p.p.i.n.g wet, and she smells like a brewery. Somehow most all of the beer in the red Solo cup that Brett had worked so hard to get was now covering our terrified toddler- from head to toe. We removed her soaking wet shirt, put her cow jacket on, and gave her some gummy snacks and all was right in her world once again!
These whirly airplanes someone was handing out were fun too...except when you trip and the plastic end goes right in to the fleshy part of your hand. ouch! Poor Brady...second crisis of the evening averted with some first aid cream and a band-aid. :)
