Notifying The Bigs

Today we told the kids we were having another baby.  We have it all on video.  It was cute.  We gave them the ultrasound picts and asked them if they knew what they were.  Sylvie guessed a bear sleeping in a cave.  Brady did say, "This is me, in your tummy."  I think he has seen his baby book and must've remembered?  We told them that was a baby that was in Mommy's tummy now.  They were both super excited.  Sylvie said, "There's a baby in your tummy?!  For Real?!!" and then squealed!  Sylvie asked if the baby was a boy or girl and then told us, "It had better be a girl baby b/c I am NOT dealing with Two brothers!"  (at this point we hadn't gotten the blood test results back yet, so we didn't know the gender yet)  Brady said, "I don't care if it's a boy baby or a girl baby; I just want a CUTE baby!"  haha!

Broadlands Live

80s band The Reflex is @ Broadlands Live tonight!  So despite having a 7 AM meet tomorrow, we're having a totally radical time jamming! :)

Swimming in the Rain

Swim meet warm up is in effect...in the driveway. Brady goes, "what will we do if its raining???" Um, you'll get wet, like you do when you're swimming. Now thunder, that's another story. Sigh.
It has been so rainy so far this summer...had a few meet delays and cancellations.  Today we're delayed, but these boys are ready!

Camp Day 2

We carpooled to camp with the Pauleys and the Cathers (and Mayhews) so I had this pict on my phone to let their moms know they were all set.  The boys said, "Whoa it's sunny out here." indeed. :)

Tooth Krispies

So, we learned this morning that a 7 year old's tooth looks oddly similar to Rice Krispies. ;p  We learned this when Brady's hanging-by-a-thread tooth came out...in his breakfast this morning.  HA!  We had to comb through the Krispies to find it.  :)  funny stuff!

 

This makes #7 for this 7 year old!

Happy Campers

Win! Pretty sure this will be the Best week ever! Week long/all day play date with so many of his buddies...and it's in the Redskins practice dome. Life doesn't get any better for these boys!

Kennedy Center

Susan, her visiting (from London) auntie Adele, and I went to see the Book of Mormon at the Kennedy Center today.  I've never been to the KC and I enjoyed that, but the performance?  Not so much. :(  Still a fun girls day out though!

Happy 4th!

Sylvie prepared an extra special tea party for Independence Day.  :)

 Then we're off to the annual neighborhood party at the Carlins, this year with their new pool!

Rock a Bye Luhrings

Again, the pink limo is like a cradle. :)  (That and the fact that swim team keeps these two up and exercising early all summer leads to passing out in the limo on the ride home after watching the fireworks until 10 PM.)

Out for a Stroll

The kids went to "Bria Camp" today.  :)  So Brady and Sylvie got to spend the day with Tyler and Emma before Brady had his swim meet this evening.  Here's a pict Amy sent me of the girls strolling with their dollies-

The kids are having a sleepover at Grandma's, so Brett and I are going out to dinner.  Without camp pick up and dinner prep, I had lots of time on my hands so I straightened my hair.  I think I look just like my sister here.  :)  The girls at work wanted to see a pict with my hair straight, so selfie time...

Happy Daddy's Day 2015!

We went to the movies and saw Inside Out (SO cute!).  Daddy had popcorn for dinner (of course) and Sylvie, Mommy + baby had some Burger 21.  :)

Relay Pals

Brady and Owen are the 2nd and 4th legs of the Boys 8 and Under Freestyle Relay event.  So cute how they line them up!  Brady's doing Awesome this year, btw!  He swims in the first heat of both free and back...he's the only 7 year old doing so.  He swims against 8 year olds (and in Owen's case, an almost 9 year old).  It pushes him and he's rocking in!

Last Day of First Grade

He's grown in to his graduation shirt a tiny bit more since last year!

Sylvie's actually on the team this year in the "6 and Under" category.  We treat it more as swim lessons for her.  She goes to practice every day, but won't compete in the meets this year.  So meets (and today time trials) look a lot like this for Sylvie (with the Apple babysitter).  Who am I kidding?  They look like this for everyone for the meet (with the exception of the 30 seconds it takes Brady to cross the pool where we are all cheering for him).  ;p
