80s Dance Party

Today for dance class, Sylvie wore this super cute top Mimi sent.  omg, I Love it!  (but I do love me some 80s!)  She rocks the 80s!!!

Skinny Jeans and Dance Shoes

I loved how Sylvie looked in her skinny jeans today, so I asked to take her picture.  She asked if Brady could be in the picture too and he asked if Teddy Bear could be in the picture too (this stuffie is attending Brady's "Teddy Bear Picnic" at school today...he is the bear Meepaw bought for one-week old Brady- it makes me smile to look at the bear and remember my dad).  Anyway, so here's a pict of all three of them, per requests-
This one was taken at Sylvie's request as well, "Can I wear my dance shoes and you take a picture?" (fun shoes Mimi sent!)  Their faces here are kind of funny.  They look like the "Mommy, my tummy hurts!" faces...I've been seeing a lot of these in the past few weeks.  darn stomach bug!

Ghetto Ingenuity

I came downstairs this morning and had a GREAT laugh.  I texted Brett immediately to discuss-
Here's a larger pict so you can appreciate Brett's ghetto ingenuity-
A view from the top-
Um, that would be Sylvie's half-eaten free Harris Teeter cookie being re-purposed as a wine saver. Hmm, "organic" maybe?  omg, my husband makes me laugh so hard sometimes!  I mean really, what do we even have these "fancy contraptions" for?!
The kids noticed it when I was taking pictures of it.  Brady: "Uh Mommy? Why is there a cookie on top of that bottle?" Me: "b/c your daddy is Very funny, dude." Sylvie: "Hey! That's MY cookie!" :)

Curl Girls

I got my hair cut today and Sylvie and I looked very similar.  I wanted to get picts of the two of us, but none came out quite right showing our matching dos.

Munchkins

Sylvie rocked her new raincoat and rain hat on this rainy day...SO cute!
She went back to school today.  She hadn't had "dusty poop" (as two-year-old Brady named it, so it's what we say); she actually hadn't gone potty at all the past 3 days; she's barely eating.  :(  We were hoping going to school and getting back to "normal" would help her along.  Then I got a call to pick her up at 3 PM today.  Poor bunny...still sick.  :(

So in an attempt to get her to eat Something, we took a walk to Dunkin' Donuts this evening.  The ped said to give carbs, and the sugar will make her actually eat it.  :)  Cutie-cake insisted on wearing the "circle of friends" headband she made in school today.  adorable.  She got us free donuts- ha!  We ordered 25 munchkins and the lady gave us like 50, told us not to pay at all, and kept smiling at Sylvie and saying, "She's just TOO cute!"  thanks! we think so too.  :)
Wouldn't you give these two munchkins some free donuts?! LOVE!

Twirl and Tumble 2

Poor sweet Sylvie was home again with me today.  That stomach bug has done a number on her!  But she's been resting and eating what she's able to in order to have energy for dance class- yay!
She's all about striking a dance pose-
And how awesome is her bro's hand-me-down skeleton sweatshirt + strawberry leg warmers?!

 omg, she's so adorable.
She was such a good listener today.  I am so proud of her.
You're an amazing little girl, Sylvie Rae!

Do the Math

So, let's just say that a three-year-old 59" plasma tv + a four-year-old boy wielding a broomstick like a sword does NOT add up to something good!  We're documenting this so that we'll remember...and so that we make Brady remember too!  Yesterday, Brady and Riley were outside dueling with "swords."  This morning Brett was working on his computer in the sunroom, I was doing laundry upstairs, and Sylvie was doing a puzzle in the kitchen.  Brady was swinging Sylvie's broomstick like a sword and I heard it tap the tv.  I looked down and said, "You really shouldn't be doing that.  Please don't play near Daddy's tv."  But didn't think more of it.

Later in the afternoon, Sylvie's tummy still hurt so she asked to go inside to watch tv.  When we turned the tv on, we noticed a black line through it and a small spider-web like crack where it originated (the point of impact, apparently).  After about 20 minutes of being on, the plasma made a funny noise and went black.  doh.

I forgot to take a picture of it while it was still on the wall.  Here it is a week later when we replaced it (since I'm back-blogging again)-

Friday Night Lights

We met up with the Pauleys at the local high school football game this evening.  Even though Sylvie was home with me again today battling her stomach bug, the weather was great and it was nice to be out in the fresh air!
This is Sylvie's way of not spreading her germs. ha!  Just kidding...she wanted to sit next to me and only me...and I was taking the picture! :p
Kristin picked the perfect seats at the bottom with a platform- so the kids could run...and dance.
Check out Evan's robot and Brady's hula hoop dancing.  :p

Dangers

I wish our brains were like DVRs...so that when a "moment" happens, you could hit rewind and record.  Sylvie said the funniest thing today, so I pulled out the camera and tried to capture it.  We were leaving the house and she said, "Don't leave without me!" and I said, "I would Never leave without you Sy-bee!" and she said, "Oh good, 'cuz iffa (that's how she says if, it's hilarious), iffa I by myself, then dangers will want me, right?"  (She calls strangers, "dangers" and I don't correct her b/c well first off, it's kind of true; and second, it's super cute!)  Anyway, so I wanted to hear her say it on video, and then she added this gem on the end...

"b/c I'm cute they're taking me home."  LOL!!!!

What You Want For Day?

I've been meaning to record some of the adorable things Sylvie says.  I have some video, but I've been so behind blogging as it is...I barely get picts and posts up, let alone video.  So anyway, I've at least been meaning to write some of it down.  Sadly, she's already outgrown and self-corrected some of these things and others I've already forgot!  :(  We still use this one in our house, even though she doesn't anymore.  :p

Whuh you want fuh day?  (what you want for day?)
Not only was this statement cute (for some reason she used to substitute "for" for "to"), but it was the way she said it.  It was always when she was playing waitress or ice cream shop salesperson (mimicking Brady) and she would pop up from the couch and look over the half wall to the kitchen and she'd loudly say, "whuh you want fuh day?!"  as in "What would you like today?" or "Can I take your order?"  ha!

Role Playing

I was listening to Brady and Sylvie role-playing "house" the other day and I was cracking up.  One of them would pretend to be the parent and the other the child.  It was funny b/c it went like this:
Brady: "Good night, Kid!  I love you Kid!"
Sylvie: "Good night, Grown-up!  I love you Grown-up!  Hey, Grown-up, I need a drink of water."

I realized as I was tucking Brady in and squeezing him tonight and I said, "oooo, I love you kid!" why they say that now.  But their use of "grown-up" is still pretty funny.

Tutus and Tiaras

Sylvie had her first dance class this afternoon.  Joy, Bella's mom, recommended this place to us when Sylvie was like 6 months old.  She and Bella just loved it and I remember when they were telling me about it two years ago, I knew for sure we would do it.  The Littlest Luhring is in the "Twirl and Tumble" class on Monday evenings (30 minutes of dance and 15 minutes of gymnastics).  It is PERFECT...in every.single.way.  I cried and smiled simultaneously for the entire 45 minutes.  cutest.thing.EVER

Sylvie wore an outfit that Mimi gave her as a tiny baby (yes, I get the forward-thinking planning ahead from my mom!) and some shoes we found together at a consignment sale this weekend while the boys were away.  Here she is at Ms. Omayma's before class.
Dress-up is included- tiaras, princess gowns, wands...seriously Sylvie's living her dreams...

As if it could get any better?!  Ms. Kristen gives out stamps and lollies at the end of each class!
