We celebrated Leif's 5th birthday today @ Bach to Rock. So fun, especially b/c (except for Leif's older sister Taylor) Sylvie was the only girl rocker. Awesome! Thanks Leif! Your party rocked!

Snow Fun
Sylvie: "Mommy, remember when you made that snow fort with us?"
Me: "uh, when we did that yesterday?"
Sylvie: "Yeah, that one."
Me: "Yes, Sylvie; I remember....like it was YESTERDAY!"

The pups had some training to go through and earn their Paw Patrol badges.

4th station- Zuma's Hovercraft Races with ping pong balls
Coloring station for placements (coloring is one of Sylvie's Favorite things to do)
5th station- Making Skye (and a bunch of other objects) fly with the parachute
"This pup's gotta fly!"
Good puppies all sitting for doggie treat (Scooby snacks)!
Pups eating their chow (Kix and Cocoa Puffs). No paws allowed- ha!

Celebrating Sylvie
The newly minted 5 year old started her day off with a sweet breakfast (birthday pancakes with sprinkles). She stayed home from school and spent the day playing with Mimi. Then she opened presents, popped her $1 balloons, and ate cake (of course!).
5 years old
Happy 5th Birthday Sylvie! This girl continues to be the bright shiny SPARK in our family. She is just so Full of Life and decidedly sure of herself...of everything she says and does. It's a treat to know her! At the tender age of five years, the girl has her "ness" (Sylvie-ness) and boldly defines it with everything she does.
Sylvie's very social; Loves people and talking. Non-stop. :) On the other hand, she's also great with playing by herself
She's smart...and so ready to get started with kindergarten next year! She loves to "help" Brady with his homework and do her own "work" too. She knows many sight words and is on the verge of reading (sounding out words). She is able to read one book (that has mostly sight words) and is super proud of that!
She enjoys watching movies and cartoons (Paw Patrol, Sofia the First, Star Wars Rebels). She's still a fan of princesses, and I'm hoping she'll hold on to this for a while. Many friends with older girls have warned me that it's a sad day when the "princess phase" ends. She's also Brady's biggest fan...when she's not arguing and fighting with him like only a little sister can! I am still her best pal. She likes to spend time with me and have us look similar...I'm still cherishing this (and documenting it!) b/c I know one day it won't be exactly like this. Her current BFFs are Emma Bria (who she's known since birth when they went to Ms. Omayma's together) and Hayes Medairy (who is the sweetest little gentleman and is in her pre-K class this year).
Weight: 40.6 lbs (56th percentile)
Height: 42.5 inches (52nd percentile)

The Should've Been a Snow Day
The weather was pretty crazy today...snow all day long, accumulating to about 6"...and (gasp!) LCPS was Open! Crazy! Our after-care was closed though b/c Golden Pond School did not want to assume responsibility for transporting children with the hazardous road conditions.
So now that they're home from school, they're finally able to enjoy the snow today on what *should* have been a snow day! ;p
