I've been meaning to make ice cream from snow with the kids for some time now. Poor Brady is passed out on the couch with his headache. But after watching Frozen for the 300th time (we all still love that movie!), sister and I made some "green snow" with the green bottle Lucky left for her. (Who knew that green food coloring would elicit such giggles?!)
Then we gathered some clean white snow and brought it inside to make snow cream. Yumm!

"Happy Leprechaun Day!"
As the kids call it. :) We have a snow day today...and I'm actually pretty grateful b/c we have fun stuff to do; it's nice to not have to rush around before school (b/c I honestly did not know how we were going to do that!) They didn't catch the leprechaun, but he did leave them a note, Lucky Charms, and then led them on a green scavenger hunt to find his special pot of gold (chocolates) and a bottle of green water to make green snow!
No pinching the stuffies!
This was about when Brady's headache started. :( He then spent the entire day sleeping on the couch and then was home sick the next day. :(

Trapper Brady
The leprechaun trap has evolved a little bit...they painted the box green so it would attract the little guy. They colored pictures and hung them for distractions. They put rainbow tape around- b/c they (and the leprechaun) Love rainbow duct tape. Brady installed a low "trip wire" (green {of course!} yarn across the bottom entrance way and also put sticky tape all over the floor. So our distracted little leprechaun would wander in to this wondrous museum of beautiful artwork, only to trip and get stuck on sticky tape- Trapped! He set it and it's ready! (Sylvie's not in these pictures b/c she was crying and being challenging {again} at dinner; so she's in bed already.)
Fail
If our unauthorized tenants were still around (and not trapped by Brett, heh {it was mice...6 of them trapped!) they would have learned a valuable lesson this weekend-- their backup storage facility was a FAIL. When Brett fired up the RX-7 this weekend (for the first time in a few months) the rotary engine whirled like a Vita-Mix and ground another stockpile of dog biscuits to bits complete with a dramatic puff of smoke! ha! This ongoing "tale of tails" continues to entertain us.

Ready for Grandma's
The kids are having a sleepover @ Grandma's house tonight. Sylvie requested a kitty shirt for Grandma. Mimi outfitted her well then with this double-sided cutie kitty shirt! (She was all about posing- lol!)
Leprechaun Trap Construction
Brady's actually thought about this this year...and requested that we make a trap for the leprechaun. His articulation of the plan was hilarious, and actually pretty good! He says, "Oh I know! Let's make a whole bunch of super cool decoration that the leprechaun will like. He will look at them and then get distracted (nice vocab!) and then be all like this, 'oh, that's a nice decoration! Cool shamrock there. AAHHHHHH!' when he falls in to our trap!" A dramatic reenactment accompanied this explanation and I requested it over and over b/c it made me LOL!

Mill Run Carnival
We went to the carnival @ Brady's school tonight. It was a fun family thing to do, even if it was super crowded! iPicts are all I got-

Rainbow
Saw this driving home from swimming tonight. The kids were positive that the leprechaun (and his pot of gold) had to be nearby!

Guess How Much I Love You
Sylvie
snuggling with me and going to bed: "Mommy, I love you to GOD and
back." (quickly followed by) "and even to Mill Run and back!" (note:
this=1 mile round trip, but apparently is the greater distance to the
four-year-old who walks it each morning when we take her brother to
school; but I'll take this relative perspective, b/c I get what she
means)
"It's b/c I love you the much-est, Mommy."
Trying to use expansion/modeling language, I respond, "I love you the most, Sylvie" but she thinks we're still playing the 'Guess How Much I Love You' game and she replies,
"I love you the Most-est, Mommy!"
Bested by Little Nutbrown Hare. ha!

Radishes
Who
says tv isn't educational? We're at HT and Sylvie shouts, "Hey look
Mommy! Radishes!" I said, "right. How did you know that?" (Thinking
Grandma had told her bc she eats them a lot) Sylvie replies, "oh bc that's what Peter Rabbit likes. They look like that."

Three with Me
Syl's BFF Colin came home from school with us tonight. We swung by HT first and they all were So cute! A lady stopped me to tell me I had "the cutest kids." (People always think Colin and Sylvie are twins...they certainly love/hate like bro and sis!) She was the same lady who was trying to take a phone call in the frozen aisle where I was letting the crazies run wild. At checkout, she said, "You have LOTS and LOTS of patience." lol! No, at that point I was just like, "eh, let 'em go! Have fun!" and they were being cookoos!
Testing
We finally got a new camera lens- whoohoo! Testing to make sure it works...little sis on our way to walk to school this AM.

Layered
Sister got a haircut today. It was just getting so long and scraggly. The stylist asked me if she should layer it. Sure, why not? That's how my hair is. It's cute, but I'm a little sad that her "hombre" blonde highlights seem to have been hacked off. :( Hopefully they'll come back this summer!
