Seasick Mommy :(

I was not feeling well all day Tuesday and most of Wednesday.  :(  But if I was going to be laid out, what better time then when there were three grandparents to entertain and take care of the kids?! :)
Here the kids are playing poker (or "chips!"as they called it).  We're on vacation, why not? ;p

(Myrtle) Beach Week 2013

Again this year we had a fabulous vacation with the grands and the Rocks in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Here Connor and Brady are playing Chutes and Ladders.  After the first game, the WVU sophomore realized they hadn't been playing correctly.  We had to remind this engineering major that this game was for ages 5+ and that it required knowing how to count consecutively.  (Deanna informed us that counting to 100 is an objective of one of his math classes this year- HA!)  Dom was practicing fishing (he really does fish- and caught a mini shark this year!) with the Monsters Inc fishing game.

On Sunday, we had a VERY special house guest!  Spider-man came to visit us!  (This costume was HANDMADE by Connor; the young man is amazing; truly The Amazing Spider-man!)

 Sylvie was a little bit nervous to meet and greet Spider-man, but waved from a safe distance.

This was Monday...and I'll take this kind of Monday (on the beach with fab friends and family and the cutest kids in the world) any day!  She's beach ready; so.darn.cute

A New Luhring Rule(r)

Tonight Brett hung up my latest fun basement addition- a giant ruler to measure family growth.  I LOVE it!  Sylvie was funny.  We tell her we want to measure her and instead of putting her back to it, she went face first b/c she wanted to see it too.  ha!

 Currently, Brady is 47" tall and Sylvie is 39.5" tall.

We went and played at the Pauleys' house today where they had their awesome water slide set up.  fun, fun fun!

Gretel

So the patio is about done (just a few finishing touches), but the kids are already using it.  Brady brings his toys out there all the time.  Today he made me LOL, as he sat in the fireplace with his toys.  Not the intended purpose, but hilarious nonetheless!  Hansel and Gretel was all that came to mind...

Sleepover

Brady and Sylvie have a sleepover every night...since we've moved in to this house, they prefer to sleep in the same room- either of their rooms is fine, as long as they are together.  :)  Tonight we added Jerel to the mix and that made for super fun!

With the air mattresses all set up in Brady's room, it looked like summer camp- ha!

Construction Zone

Construction continues on the patio by the crew...and these two are having a field day in the "giant sand box."

And our DIY crew broke ground on their new construction project!  Daddy and Papa are building the kids a play set...and it's going to be Awesome, just like the construction "worker guys" (as the kids call them). 

"Work with Daddy to build playset" is on their Summer Fun List (totally their idea; and pretty awesome b/c Brett lets them help whenever possible)

The Cat in the Hat

The kids had "go see a show" on their Summer Fun List.  So I was Thrilled when Kristin asked us if we wanted to go see a live theater performance of The Cat in the Hat.  PURRFECT!  ha! :)  We'd never been to Glen Echo Park, but it was a super fun place and the show was too cute- we all loved it!
